There's a huge thread on the mazda3forum.com regarding RX-8 rims on our cars..

Do the RX8s, they look better in my opinion. I think the MS3 may be lighter though. So it's ur choice. Looks or weight?

RX8 rims look good if you have rust-free calipers and rotors.
You'll need 225/40/R18 tires. 225/45/18 will work if you're not lowerd, but those are not the correct size.

Whichever you choose to get, let me know so that I could buy the other :chuckle I just bought new rims and installed them but for some reason I still want to stay oem except for mods under the hood so either one of those two rims will make me a happy guy. :)

Yes, 225/40/R18 are probably the best.
dont put 225/45/18 on. you will rub the rear 100% if you have even one passenger on the back seat (that car hasnt been lowed). and the fender lip will be damadged. i wont say that if i didnt saw it.

I'm just going to add that 225-45-18 will not work. 225-40-18 is optimal for a 3...
And I vote RX8... I love those wheels, they allways look big, allways look clean.

215-35-18 is ridiculously small, but I guess you can use them temporarily...
I got you covered on your winters...:chuckle

Yeaah they are thin like paper :D they are pretty worn out ... too lol
So i guess i will pick up 17" and 18" same day ... so I will not have to drive to GTA twice :)
and I think i would like to get again 215 35 18 :D cuzz they look hot :D I hope u will have good price :) on them :P those are Falkens 451 I think ..

Go for the RX-8's for sure. Simple design and an agressive look.

225/40/18 will be the closest to a stock 17 without throwing off your speedometer too much.

Oops I meant to say 225/40/18's
Your actual speed will be 5% slower than whats on the speedo.
Use the calculator here: http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp
Using a 225/40/18 will be apprx 3% off

Holy dyna thats wheel gap is huge !!! Are the rims powdercoated or is that the original finish?
If you take a look at the mazda3 link I posted up earlier, that should give you an idea that 225/40/18 is what everyone uses though there are guys with 245's..
The downside with 245's is that if you have people in the back seat , you may rub and if you decide to lower your car the same will happen.

Powder coated :) those are night pics they spark at day light but i want them to get re finished again :)
dunno if i should stick with this color its really original i guess

If the rims are in great shape with no chips/curb rash and such, keep them as they are....nothing wrong with being original. Use the money towards other mods :chuckle
