View Full Version : Sirius in 2008.5 after the fact?

Hi All.

Just purchased a new 2008.5 Mazda3 GX with the power package and AC a few weeks ago.

My work was in Toronto, so I have been a TTC commuter for 6 years...but we have recently moved to Markham...leading me to buy a new car for commuting reasons (and trashing my 1997 VW Golf!).

I love everything about the car...except the horrible radio I am forced to listen too! I've brought in CDs, and it's helped, but is kind of a pain. I bought an aux input for my ipod, and used the centre consol to listen to Ipod tunes.

BUT I WOULD LOVE TO GET SIRIUS RADIO! I have only realized this after the fact, I didn't think to inquire during my shopping, and my salesman never mentioned satellite radio either.

The Question is...what is the easiest way to install Sirius on my GX? I see there is a SAT button...can I just go back to my dealer and get a receiver installed? Should I try and by seperately? Ideally I would like the receiver to be hidden away from the dash like I see some receivers on some cars, and just work the satellite radion from my SAT button and display.

Thanks in advance for any opinions or information....

I have the factory Sirius, it's the only one that works with the factory dash controls. I installed it myself and I can't live without it.

If you're not so handy just have the dealership do it. It's expensive though, $300+ dollars.

Thanks Kingpin....I guess I'll just contact my dealer....although it was all the way out in Burlington...sounds kinda expensive, but it is a must have....
