View Full Version : Anyone have any experience having service done at Scarborough Mazda?
It's almost time for my 1st service.
Not sure if I should take it to Scarbo Mazda (where it's closer) or drive down to MoT for Vincent?
Any tips?

I deal with Scarboro Mazda and they have been excellent to me, pretty damn good service, they don't offer a club discount as MoT offers to TM3 members on parts and labour, but Mot's alot further drive, so weight the difference. :)

I take my Speed 3 and will take my Mazda5 there for service (I work close by, but live pretty much across the street from MoT).
The Scarb guys have always been amazing with communication - when they say they'll call you back, they actually do - from sales, to service and parts guys. Car was ready when promised, called to tell me, pick up drop off service in a timely fashion. Honestly, not a bad thing to say about them so far...

these guys get an A+ from me for service. Brought car in yesterday for maintenance, they did it in timely fashion, included car wash/vacuum for free and gave me 10 % discount (maintenance ended up costing a lot..lol).
Also called me the next day to make sure everything was alright :)

Should this be added to the list of dealerships that offer discounts to TM3 members?
oh man, and I just had my oil change done. Maybe next time.

I just booked an appointment with Scarboro (online). I'll have to remember to ask about the TM3 discount.:)

Had my oil change and warranty rear shock replaced there last week - TM3 discount - took them a bit on the computer to figure out, but worked out just fine!
(No discount on the warranty work though!) :chuckle

they don't offer that promotion anymore... however i told them that when i booked my servicing that they would honour the discount...when i arrived it was like they had no record of the price estimate and discount that was applied... shifty. I relented and they gave me 10%. I booked a synthetic oil change and they tired to quietly push a tire rotation on me. Be careful with them. All the mechanics are super young and i'm not so confident with them.

Although this is a necro thread, you can never ever trust a stealership. If they offer some kind of deal, get them to put it in writing. Otherwise it doesn't exist.

Definitely, Scarlem Mazda is under new management and not so good anymore. Definitely beware of their service department....I personally will not ever use then again.

In for regular service, asked them to check out a rattle on the rear passenger side, which I narrowed down to the suspension. Since I was going to be there anyways, easier for them to check, than me jacking it up in the street covered in snow. Charged me $50 diagnosis fee, told me everything looks good and tight, it's just the shock itself starting to go.
So I'm shopping around for new rear shocks, made appointment with Jimmy for a few days later. While driving, bottom mounting bolt FALLS OFF. That's what was rattling, it wasn't even hand tight. Because they told me they looked at it, I did not look at it myself - potentially causing an accident when my shock dropped and hit the ground at 60km/hr.
TL;DR - Tech charged me for an inspection he didn't even do - should have found the problem in under a minute.
Never going back there to purchase or service

I had a horrible situation with scarboro mazda.. first car i ever owned and they ****ed it up... i got the car and the climate controls and dashboard lights weren't working, it took them three tries to fix and told me that the car had wire corrosion. when I tried to return it, the used sales car manager gave me a hard time telling me he will refund the total of the car but i will have to come up with 2500 in cash to put money down on another car.
which I find unacceptable because it was their fault to begin with..
I ended up keeping the car and it has warranty so if anything happens to it, i can always go back to get it serviced.but not with them..
buyer beware.. but if you do choose Scarborough talk to berbo (sales).. hes about the only guy that is approachable and will help you out.. stay away from service.. esp from that asian dude there because he will find a way to charge you an arm an a leg even when you're only going for a change oil.

Will be going for service with them since they gave me free oil change... (apparently they are giving me tire rotation as well for free)
we will see if they bounce back from bad to good

UPDATE!
the were at it again.. although the oil change was speedy, I had to get into a heated argument with the service adviser Mr. Steven Lam because he refused to check my car for gurgling noise (my car is CPO) without asking me to pay 60$ upfront.. That's right UPFRONT before they even touch the car.
I was then told that tire rotation was included in the oil change by another adviser on the phone. ( BUT OF COURSE) its my word and his word at 730 in the morning and he couldn't care less how upset I was because it doesn't say in the email.
The guy even have the audacity to charge me 20 dollars for the tire rotation PLUS 60 dollars for diagnostic fee.. ( he didn't even investigate the problem yet let alone the mechanic)
If it wasnt for the oil change that came with the car .. i swear i would never return.. I keep giving them chances but DAMN! every time they just get into my nerves even more

Great experience at Scarborough mazda for service i had a squeak sound looked at and rust inspection, oil change done without any hassle. Drove around with the tech in my mazda to find out. Service tech is amazing telling me he used to work in the UK then came to Canada worked on all types of cars. Service advisor at desk always likes hearing about my Mods. And what i done Headers,Tune etc I even told her to check suspension because im going lower and even spoke to service tech. All mounts and endlinks and other components are all great still. Paid $47.61 plus tax. Only got charged for oil change as you can see here. GREAT EXPERIENCE!. Also free Netflix, youtube, computer, ipad air, coffee, hot chocolate :)

This is a horrible place man you don't feel welcome and very rude to the customers.
HI guys, I bought my car here and took it in for general maintenance stuff because it didn't need much for the first few years and this place is walking distance from my house but what would anyone recommend an alternative for standard maintenance?

I bought my car at Scarboro Mazda and Michael Jubran from Sales is exceptionally friendly and even helps out with coordinating any service that may be needed. I went in today to have my backup camera looked at. When backing up, I'll use the camera to park and it'll show that I'm straight, but when I step out of the car I've parked fairly crooked. No damage to the car or the camera and the tech didn't know what was wrong. The Service receptionist said she will open up a ticket and ask Mazda how to resolve the issue. I took the tech to take a look at it (some asian dude) and he acted like nothing was really wrong with it in his eyes. So I took Michael to take a look at the same thing and he noticed it right away! He said he'll keep in touch with service and keep me in the loop!
I'll keep you updated with what happens and how the overall service is. But right now, if it wasn't for Michael, I'd say there's a lack of hospitality at Scarboro Mazda. They make you seem like you're and idiot and don't know what you're talking about.

Bought my car there also, never had an issue other then the headlight lens recall, they replaced it after my 3rd visit, they just replaced lens first 2 times got way worse. The service advisor's are fantastic with me there, they love hearing my Mods and what i have planned next. I did a test drive with techs to test my suspension and told me everything is still in good condition. The only person im not a big fan of is the service manager, hes stupid. He tried to blame my CS LED DRL for the headlight condensation im like you are stupid?

So I heard back from Mazda on Tuesday (sorry only got a chance to update you guys now). The worst answer possible from customer service: Mazda says that the backup camera is not exact and should only be used as guidelines. I called BS and told them that even their own sales consultant looked at my camera and said it was messed up. After that they said they can replace the backup camera for me. I have an appointment tomorrow at 2:30pm. So far I'm disappointment, but I'm glad I got Michael on my side to back me up. If it wasn't dude I'd probably lose this battle. :s

Alright so I gave in my car today for the backup camera replacement (2:30 appointment). I dropped the car off because Service said it would take an hour and a half. I get a call after 3 pm from Service saying that they tried replacing my backup camera with one from another model (wasn't brand new) but that didn't work. They told me they will place an order for a new camera on Monday and scheduled me for next Saturday to put the new one in. :bang I was furious. You would think that they would have had a new camera waiting for me especially since they knew of my issue ahead of time. I'm going to make a complaint to the Manager next week after they fix my camera and tell them this is the last time I come back for anything.
