Hey Guys,

I have a Small Form Factor PC called a Cappuccino PC (http://www.cappuccinopc.com), and it has stopped working. The CPU doesnt have a Power Supply per say... it is hooked up in the car. So today I ripped out the Glovebox, and the Computer is getting power. The problem is that the PC powers up (nothing on the monitor), and then shuts down right away. So nothing on screen, and it never reaches POST. I ripped the PC apart and see no blown caps etc.

Any ideas?

could be the video cable connecting to your screen. Can you take it out the car completely and test? If that is not the issue, I'm guessing the RAM is toast.

Take out everything that isn't necessary except the motherboard, ram, HD and monitor.

If it doesn't even put up a bios or load msg your motherboard might be dead. Otherwise it would at least try to boot the HD (then HD might be the problem).

Direct 12V current to a motherboard (fluctuating) is probably what fried it, you need some kind of regulator or voltage stabilizer. Any fuses blown?

Rip out the RAM too, it should still POST.

The power supply is fed through a Carnetix P1900, so its always a consistant 12V. The video cable is fine too... the PC just shuts itself down after a few seconds of power. I took out the DVD Drive, RAM, and CPU fan even, same thing :( Not sure what the issue is. Not really wanting to find another.

I would say based on the troubleshooting you have done that it is probally an issue with the motherboaed or CPU. More then likely it is the motherboard that has failed.
