Question:

When you have your Air direction set to Feet only... Is your AC on? (the light doesn't turn on... but as soon as I turn it to Feet and face, the light does, just like when having it on defog.

As well, when i have it on upper body only... a lot of air goes to the front windscreen as well.

I think something is screwed up with the selector on my car... I just want to confirm.

Thanks guys!

On most cars the A/c automatically turns on when its in the defrost mode while you're car is set to blow cold air. My mother's accord does this but it does show the A/C light, you just can't turn it off.

My 2005 Mazda3 Sport doesn't automatically engage the A/C no matter which direction I set the airflow to (on cold or warm). If the green light is NOT on, then neither is the A/C.

If you guys tried reading the Owner's manual once in a while :chuckle...you would know that the air conditioning will come on in any position from 12 o'clock to 4 o'clock with the mode selector!! ....and no, the green light on the A/C button will not come on....but you should notice a clicking sound and poorer gas mileage :chuckle

Ah, Thanks Flagrum! I just found it stupid that the cold air blasts away at your feet when you select "feet only"

As well.... When you have it to "upper body" only, do you get a lot of leakage into the defroster vent?

When you have the selector on 'feet only', it should give you some air out the defrost vent also, but in the "upper body only" position it shouldn't...I'll have to check mine and get back to you, I haven't noticed it happening but then I wasn't looking for it either.
