Hey guys, I have a catback exhaust from my old '04 GT. My question is will it fit my speed 3 ? I haven't been underneath my '07 Speed3 yet to measure or see if its routed in the same manner.
Thanks in advance

not sure about fitment. but your concern is the diameter of the piping. If you go to small you will actually rob your car of power.

+1
there's really no point if that cat-back is equal size as the stock speed exhaust unless u're going for a different sound.
if it's smaller, then it's a total waste cuz u'll be reducing power rather than gaining even if it has a higher flow muffler

i picked up an extra resonator from cta pat for my speed three. that way you don't sacrifice the performance of added restriction but you can kill out some drone and lower the volume some if you're so inclined.
had it welded in at JPG performance exhaust in oakville

LOL thanks for the input...but I'm not foreign to turbo cars or how they work. The exhaust is nice mandrel bent 2.5 inch. If it doenst fit I'll just sell it. So what is the stock exhaust piping diameter?

hmmmm....thanks. I have to see if how much of a mess the stock exhaust is to see if its worth putting on. The routing of both are the same though? As in it should be a direct bolt on?

Routing is the same, hence why people with regular 3's put the MS3 exhaust on it.

Ideal exhaust size on the MS3 would be 3" diameter piping...

Hey guys do any of you have a pic of the stock speed 3 exhaust out of the car. I just basically wana see the routing and how the stock bend are and such. Even if the one I already have is 2.5 inch....I suspect it's exhaust path is alot less restricted.
N/A cbe will fit. but whats the point?:loco

I don't get it either AFTER reading his posts...I would just sell it and keep the stock one. and then get CPE or COBB TBE :)

Ok seems I have to clarify. I already have a custom 2.5 inch mandrel bent exhaust made my a friend of mine. STOCK exhausts are known for kinks and weird bends and are not mandrel bent hence less flow. To save money i'd switch to the one I have which will cost me nothing. I'm not a stranger to turbo cars....dont let my low post count fool you. I've owned turbo rx7's for years...

The stock CBE from the Speed3 should be mandrel bent as well... again.. it's equivalent if not better as if you're gonna go through the trouble.. with install and such.. why not make it an improvement?

LOL I can't beleive this is so misunderstood! I'm not foreign to turbo cars first off. I know 3 inch is ideal for most turbo cars. But I have a 2.5 in mandrel bent exhaust that is a beautiful piece off my old 3. I realize its not 3 inch diameter but due to restrictive bends etc I'm betting will flow alot better then the stock exhaust. It also has a nice sabre muffler and is fully stainless steel. Obviously it will cost me nothing to change to this system. It will sound better and reduce at least a bit of the restriction of the stock set up and I dont have to pay 600-700 to do it. And install is no problem! :D
