Hey guys,

I am in Calgary, but this seems to be the best canadian 3 forum.

Anyways, I need the rubber 'all-weather' floor mats for this upcoming winter for my gf's new 3 Sport GT.

Where can I find the best price, is ther esomewher eonline or Flipdady, do you have them? or should I just hit my dealer?

Canadian Tire. That's where I got mine and they seem to work fine.

expensive, but very good. You can also try the usa site and they are half the price, but only ship to us addresses.

I picked up the Michelin all- weather mats from Costco. Worked well the last couple of years in my wife's car. Realtively cheap too for the set of 4.....

I got mine from Canadian tire. 2 large front and 2 small backs, all for 35bucks plus tax.ish

only downside is that the front driver side mat doenst cover the foot rest/pad thing on the left side (assuming you have an AT) so during the winter time that area gets a little salty. other than that i thought it was a pretty good deal...

I guess its all on what your looking for. Generic mats are fine if you dont mind it shifting around under your feet and jamming under the pedals, salt spilling over the edges and crappy fit... Mazda mats are alright, as they are custom to the car, but they are not really that great... as for the weathertechs (which you can get mats or liners), they are custom fit and cover more area. If you go with the liners, they have a high edge and form a bowl, so it prevents the salty water from going on the carpets. I ordered mine from the states and sent it to a friend, then picked em up. Put them in the car, no brokage lol... But again, if its a gift for your girlfriends brand new car, the weathertechs will definately score more points then cdn tire ones.

I got mine at Walmart. It was a pack of 4. 2 long ones for the front and 2 short ones for the back (that's what she said)..

you have nice lines going around the mat in case you need to trim them a bit. I think I saw them in the flyer for $25. I believe I got mine on at a sale price of around $15 to $20 but that was like in 2005.. they're really rugged an durable.

these are the ones

EDIT: Everything that shootemup said about generic mats, I have not experienced with these mats but mind you I don't drive too often. Mostly just on the weekends. My carpet are still all black and have no salt stains at all. Even after going snowboarding I never (or hardly) get any snow on the carpets (I also just leave the stock carpet mats underneath these all weather mats). these mats are big enough to go right under the pedals and they don't shift around.

if the car is automatic -- any all weather mats is fine.
if the car is manual -- dont save $$$, buy the weathertech liner.

I also run the Michelin winter mats as well as a friend of mine. They are a bit small for the rear and slide around.
The 2 fronts are not bad. The passenger side is fine. It's the driver's side that is a little bit of a concern. Since the mats are big and hold a lot of water, it sometimes will catch the clutch pedal which can be dangerous. The mats have to be positioned a little away from the clutch to prevent that. After a while, the mats flattened in that area and little and I never had problems, but keep that in mind when getting non custom fit mats.

So pros of Michelins:
- Hold tons of water
- Very durable
- Come with free ice scrapers (they suck =)
- Not too expensive and easy to get at Cdn Tire/Costco
- Works fine with automatic
- Taper at the top of the mat

cons:
- A little bulky
- Might catch the clutch
- Some spillage on the carpet but might be due to me not putting my foot on the mat.
- Slide around as there is no notch on the driver's side mat to keep it in place
- Not custom to the Mazda3

+1, the best BY FAR! I had these in my truck too and they were great. The all season mats from Mazda definetly dont cut it
