I baby my car, never crashed into potholes before... the outside of my 4 rims are flawless.

can it happen at the track? going over those red/white curbs?
my alignment is good now! it was off after i autocrossed, then it readjusted itself at tmp so now its straight again hahahaha!
I did flew off the track once by myself and another time dodging people's spinout.
This is the front passenger wheel, yours was ok??

Ouch, that's bad. The only guess I can think of is maybe your car was on top of something (like a curb) and lost grip....slip back down. But if u say maybe at the tracks how can that happen?

Your car is stock?
I had marks like this on the wheels on my old truck, because the offset was incorrect and when it bottomed out the leaf spring u bolts would hit the rim.
I don't know how this would happen on a 3 though, is it even possible for the control arm to make contact with the rim?

I know exactly how it happened...hard to explain but basically, you drop a wheel OVERthe crub and landed on the dirt/grass side...at TMP, the chicane, the dirt/grass side has a big drop off...

Tires, gas, fluids, track fees, etc...but where else can you drive balls to the wall...run off into the grass and not kill anyone else?
better damage my wheel(s) then some kids' life...

how come your rims survived! lol if mine and mleblond both got hit.

is it as bad/worst?

the cost so far for me
$90 in gas, I used about $60 at the track (I went lightly I didn't lap all that much). The car uses a whole tank of gas in, I'm guessing under 2 hours of lapping.
$20 brake fluid. Im replacing them with the ford dot3 stuff... which I still haven't done.
$140 to run.
brake pads $70 - 30% life. A new set of hawk HPS is almost $200~ so about $70 in pads I used.
rotors $70 - used 30% of its life
tires $230- used 30% life/ assuming $700/set
oil change $25- If I track my car taht oftne i'd change its oil every other track day
$645 so far
+ food & time lost spending at the track instead of working. I Haven't even add up the other damage I could have possibly done to the car..
But whatever I expected the car to break driving it at the limit :D

Not sure how bad the damage is. I haven't gone re-balance the wheel yet. The border of the rim where the tire mounts was scraped for about 10 inches. I think I need to replace a stud also...

I went on that curb once and came off the end of it hard, but my wheel never went over...then after that I started to get a little closer to the middle of the track...plus, I was running the 17's...prolly more meat in between...
EDIT: I think your cost estimates are a little inflated...I'd put it at about $300 for the day for me...at least that's about as much as I'd like to admit... =)
On another note...I'd like to take up Eldon's idea of joining a go-kart league...

you are just in denial on track cost! My cost does not even include the fobio gears... helmet, gloves, shoes, ppc, gps lol.
I might be up for carts later... after I do some financial recovery and umm diet. weight kills those things

well...that's why I keep going...to average down my costs...:chuckle
but serious, the PPC and GPS are toys I'd play with regardless of the car, so I consider it integration...and the PPC is endlessly upgradeable...
I think the saying goes..."Speed costs money...how fast do you wanna go?"...
Your wheel can be fixed for ~$100...but looking at how fresh that metal is cut, are you sure you installer didn't take your car out for a boot in Pickering?!

It would cost more if you some how totaled your car at the track, not sure though but I don't think your insurance company would cover the cost.
Glad to hear you are enjoying your self at the track and not on the streets, 2 thumbs up
