Some of you may already know that on Wednesday night (out for a cruise that was cut short), my car decided it wasn't going into 3rd gear. After shifting from 2nd it just "popped" right out of 3rd and into Neutral. Stopped and turned off the car, Denty pulled up beside me and I must have had this "look of shock" on my face. Started the car up again, shifted to 2nd gear and tried to put it back into 3rd, but it wasnt going ANYWHERE! Drove it home (few blocks) as it was grinding in 2nd gear, fairly loudly i might add. Parked it. Went inside and called for Mazda towing (it's now 12:30am, Thursday)

Yadda, Yadda tow service gets there around 2am, he takes it to Mazda and I leave a message for the service advisor right away.

Mazda calls me promptly at 7:57am (at this point ive only slept about 4 hours) and I explain the details once again. They finally get a look at it around noon, I am told the transmission is fully covered under warranty so im getting a BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION! W00T!

Now here is the downside, they tell me that "with a new transmission, sometimes the clutch doesn't hold up too well and i reccommend getting a new clutch assembly" which isn't covered and costs $600 (actually it ended up being over $700) so ofcourse I went ahead with it even though it didn't make sense to me, but i figured "what the hell, getting a free transmission anyways" and being that they told me the clutch wouldn't be covered under warranty if anything happened and he wasn't going to charge me for labour (making it a few hundred bucks less)

Got a rental car Friday (didn't need it on Thursday) that Mazda covered all the costs AND they just called me this morning saying "we're done" taking them a total of 1.5 days to install, very impressive as i was told possibly be done by Tuesday and the parts didn't even show up until sometime Thursday afternoon.

Excellent service, very impressed with how the car feels now and they even re-installed my short shifter. Great job Burlington Mazda.

I agree, they always seem to quote you a time but the reality is, it's 3 times longer. I took close to 5 hours for an oil change they said would only take an hour (waited in the lobby the whole time too)

I guess that's why i was shocked they were done so quickly with the clutch/transmission this time around.
