here is the question. i know that engine mount #3 (the one on the top of the engine on the passenger side) has oil in it and when it breaks, it leaks all over..

what about engine/transmission mount on the driver's side under the battery box? does it contain oil? I have a small oil leak somewhere on the driver's side, it's not engine oil, it's not drive-shaft grease... so it might be transmission oil or engine mount oil? but i'm not sure if that engine mount has oil in it....

i have 5 speed manual transmission and i did not notice any resistance or grinding while changing gears (i think that happens when transmission oil is low)... i will check the level of it, but in the meantime i just wanted to know if that mount contains oil ...

some updates...

i spent some time under the car last weekend trying to figure out where the oil was coming from... as i said before it was a really small oil leak... and it was a transmission fluid....

i decided to check to oil level in the transmission and the "fill up" bolt was loose... i was able to undo it by hand... i guess that's where the oil was leaking from... pretty strange considering i never touched that bolt since i got my car brand new... i guess it comes loose with time.... i checked the level of the transmission oil and it was fine... the oil itself was very clear, pretty impressive for the car with over 150 000 on it... on my brother's rx-7 the transmission oil was black, but i guess that car is a bit older and no-one knows what was done to it in last 20 years.. :)

for now i kept the splash-shield off the car, it's much easier to peak under the car to check for leaks... so i'll keep my eye on that bolt for now...
