My question is, how many sick contraption and game can a writer think of to fill 5 movies with? Why wasn't this writer doing the script for Batman?

iconic...he must have a large book on old school torture methods or something
the game has been the same since the first movie...just the players have changed
I really enjoyed the first one.
But after that it's just gotten more graphical and mind boggling. Then this continues for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and now 5th.
Hey grandpa do you drink a bottle of protein shake every morning?

Agreed. Thought the first one was brilliant, but the sequels have dragged it downhill to a graphic slasher genre. Too bad.

i have to disagree...it's very graphic yes, but that's a testiment to how far special effects have come in movies....it adds a very chilling touch of realism...it helps draw you in through fear....and then uses a very clever story line to keep you asking "what's next?"....brilliantly produced movies IMO

Yeah, we disagree then. I didn't find parts 2, 3 or 4 scary, I just thought they were gross and found myself wondering how such disgusting things can pass for entertainment nowadays. It just seems to me now like a director wants to show off a series of traps and sick ways of hurting or killing people and there's a story that's gotten stretched way too thin trying to tie it together and give you a reason to sit through it. I wasn't drawn in at all for the sequels like I was for the first one.
Special effects don't impress me at all. To me, special effects should be like referees: if they're bad, they take you away from what you really want to see and it's really noticeable in a negative way, and if they're good, they don't distract you from what's going on and either you don't pay special notice or they just help you enjoy the spectacle. I wish I could have said that to George Lucas before he ruined the Star Wars franchise.
Anyway I guess I'm more a fan of the European approach to movies and television: less violence, more sex! :bana2
