Just like the title says. I have a rattle or clunking noise coming from my rear driver side trunk/wheel area. I can hear it loud and clear from in the car. Its not my suspension (I got it checked by my mechanic). He took my wheel off and checked everything under the car to make sure everything was tight. It sort of sounds like its coming from up inside my wheel well or perhaps some where between the lining of my trunk and the exterior. Its not the jack, i made sure that was tightly screwed in its position. Does anyone have any ideas? My car sounds like a hunk of junk with this bloody noise. Its pissing the hell out of me. Any help would me appreciated. Thanks.

are you sure its not the shock? maybe its blown? Wheel bearing possibly? Does it go away when you turn left?

I know this is usually an obvious check but it's not your jack is it? Did your mechanic check the endlink nuts? Sometimes they feel tight but aren't 100%

Did the mechanic look at your car on the lift or on the ground? Try getting under your car, grab the rsb, and really try to move it. I had 2 of our most trusted shops try to troubleshoot my clunking. It turned out that it only happened when the car was on the ground. For me, it was my bushing (either it deforms, or doesn't fit properly in the bracket). The most obvious thing (further to what has already been stated above) is the endlink being loose.
Good luck.

This has been discussed before on this forum...I have a similar problem. I get the clunking noise coming from the rear passenger side (right). It is only noticable when the car is being driven at parking lot speed and going on a slight inclination...people on the board have suggested that its probably the rear sway bar. I havent had the chance to fix this yet.

This might sound idiotic but is your rear seats completely clipped in?(as in locked in tight)

i had thought about this but no thats not the reason for the clunking noise...my rear seats are locked.

I've had the same problem for a while. At first I thought my exhaust was loose but found out that wasn't the problem after the mechanic looked at it.
Then from reading the above posts, I figured it was probably the RSB loose (so did the mechanic), and he checked it and that was not the problem. He even went out of his way to drive the car around to remake the sound I was hearing but he didn't hear it.
As soon as I left the shop, the noise was back.
Sooooo...what to do now...
