Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to start off by saying that I truly do love my 07 Mazda 3 GT Hatch, however, I cannot stand rattling noises. I wanted to know if some of you had similar problems, and if there is a resolution.
My first problem comes from my driver's seat. I have the leather seats, and it seems as though every time a go over a slight bump, a cracking or creaking noise comes from the bottom of the seat. It is the most annoying noise. It makes me feel like I am too heavy for the seat or something; which I'm deffinitely not. I brought it to the local Mazda dealership where I purchased the car, and they didn't seem too helpful in finding a solution. They just washed their hands and said there is nothing they can do. Does the seat possibly need some lubrication?
My second issue comes from either the glove box/ passenger side door speaker. There is a continuous clicking noise everytime the car goes over a slight bump.
These noises are driving me nuts. If you guys have any solutions to these problems I would greatly appreciate your input.
Thanks.

Im not sure about the seat....try to do a search on it....I know that some people on this forum (including myself) have had squeaky seat problems but it turns out that its not the seat, its the seat belt that squeaks at the place where it locks close to the seat. When I took it to the dealer I told them about the noise and they applied some lube to it and no noises eversince
As far as the ticking on the passenger side, I would think that its the glove box. Bring it to the dealer they will replace it under warranty. They did it for me.
Hope this helps.

I've already had the glovebox replaced and it continues to make the same noise. I've also had the passenger door speaker replaced and it hasn't resolved the issue.

oh ok...my glovebox also makes some ticking noise over some bumps even after getting it replaced with warranty but its a lot less and does not do it all the time...

check the part where your belt buckle is bolted onto the car or the seat. I had an annoying noise before that I didn't know where it's coming from and then I noticed that everytime I move when seated, even through bumps, there's noise coming from that part. lubed it and so far so good since last winter.
your 2 issues could be coming from the same part too :chuckle the noise also seemed to come from the glove box and passenger side speaker area, but it was the belt buckle the whole time! try it

yeah I have the driver's seatbelt squeal as well. It's a bit annoying as I've never had it on another other car, and you figure your seatbelt buckle would be the last thing to make weird noises.
As for passenger side I have glovebox rattle but seatbelt on that side seems fine. Then again, I rarely have someone sitting there to really test it.
My car makes a squecky noise from the drivers seat and it is annoying me...i took it to the dealer today and it didn't make any noise..but they still lubed the seat then later on that night it started again...its driving me nuts:flaming
So alot of use is saying that it is the seat belt buckle that its coming from and not the seat???

yes its the seat belt buckle (the place where the belt locks by the seat)...mine was on the passenger side and after applying some lube theres no more squeak!

as a test you may want to drive with and then without the seat belt to confirm if its the seat belt. For you it may be anoying as its the drivers seat and it will beep if you dont put the seat belt on....in my case it was the passenger side so I asked my wife to test it out by wearing and not wearing the seat belt!

FYI:
If you are looking for a good lube: Liquid Wrench Dry Lube in a gold spray can. Uses PTFE (Teflon) as the lubricant and the carrier evaporates almost instantly. Zero residue other than the PTFE. Safe on most plastics. (I haven't tried it out on my car yet, but I use it to lubricate keyboards and it works great.)

Really? I've always been partial to K-Y myself...and I'm not even commenting on the lubricating the keyboard part...:chuckle

lol.. oh god..
yea, take some wd-40, spray a little bit inside the latch mechanism on the belt holster, then down where it is bolted to the seat.. do it when you get home and wont drive the car for a while as to let everything penetrate.. NO dirty jokes guys!! lol..
i did this to my car as the squeak drove me insane, and since, not a darn thing.
As for the glovebox, mine hasn't done it? i guess im one of the lucky ones, or maybe they fixed the problem for 07'...

theres so many more serious problems wih this car that if u compare it to the glovebox or seat noise its a joke, u would think after 5 years in production all these problems would be resolved but i guess not...i would expect these problems out of a first year car not ours..

Like what exactly? I'd be really curious to hear what you believe are the serious issues with the Mazda 3 that are endemic across the build platform and that are not similiar and commonplace to almost any other car manufacturer...

I had the noisy glovebox problem in my sport GT and discovered that it was the glovebox door rattling just slighty, but enough to make a noise. I simply put the owners manual (which is relatively heavy) in the inside door portion of the glovebox, and the weight was enough to stop the door from moving, and making the noise. Try putting some pressure on the door while you're driving first to see if that is what's causing the noise.

Cosmetic surgery can fix that. A lobotomy may help your syntax.
