I just bought it off Direct2Drive and I can't "preload" the game, I want a refund. Did you buy it through EA Link?

Actually,

Spore is available for pre-order. You can pre-load the PC version in advance, and it will activate on September 7th. This way you can save time and be among the frist to play Spore on the day of release.

Yes, for once, I have BOUGHT a game :-P (though pirated is a safe bet for most other games... I figured... Its taken them 5 years to make this game... If it flops, So do they.

And it won't run until the release date at midnight... I thought, just for the heck of it, to set my clock forward and take my machine off the net - it still needs to download a decryption key, and it goes by server time, even though thegame says "play now" when i did set my clock forward, it gave me an error when i tried.

Got my hopes up!
