K, so here is my story on these guys....
I bought my 3 recently, has 134,000+ kms, and was told it has the MAP warranty. So I stopped in Mazda in Guelph to inquire, see that recalls are good and if I have an extended warranty.
Right away they tell me my car has 2 open recalls, they can get me in on the monday (it was thursday). No problem, sounds good. I asked them to also look at the tensioner pulley, as it makes a fair amount of noise, especially when cold. No problem, they will look at it. Took the car in as scheduled, they took care of the recalls (air bag sensor and door reinforcement), also told me they found nothing wrong with my tensioner, everything looked fine. Also they tell me that the warranty needs to be transferred, a $40 charge. I take care of this too, $40 is worth it to me....
So yesterday (4 days after) I'm driving home, just cruising, not even going through the gears, and the tensioner pulley detonates! Takes the serp belt with it! Call Mazda Roadside, they take care of the tow no problem... happy still at this point, just annoyed that they didn't find anything wrong and days later it explodes...
So I come in to the dealership this morning, service advisor says he noticed my car outside (thought it was pretty observant that he remembered it), but didn't find any keys. I explained to him what happened, and that it WAS the tensioner that went. "Well, I'm booked until monday, I doubt we can get to it today." I said "What about the fact that I told you about this monday, and you did nothing?" Not his problem, his "25 year experienced tech" looked at it and found nothing wrong... So I figure if I have to leave the car until monday, I might as well have them look at all the TSBs that apply to me... "Oh, TSB are only covered under the 3/80 warranty, not the MAP, well, not likely. I have to call anything in under the MAP to see if they will cover it. There will be a charge of the hourly rate to look at any of these."
So basically, it started off good, and now I'm pretty much regretting having the car sent to them, should have sent it to Waterloo Mazda.
They are going to call me later, "maybe" they can get it in tonight.... I atleast made sure they had the parts in stock! Last thing I want is them calling me telling me they don't have the parts although they were able to look at the car!
So far I'm not impressed, they aren't "going above and beyond" for their customers... Especially considering I pointed directly at a problem, they "found nothing wrong", and 4 days later it blows up on me.... They should be kissing my @ss right now...
Any suggestions as to what to say to them, or call Mazda Canada?
