New technology of headlights. Should be an awesome solution for early-risers: cooking your breakfast on your way to work! :chuckle

That'll be awesome once everyone has them. I mean... I expect it would be tough to put your breakfast out in front of your headlights... but if you can put it in the back window and rely on the guy behind you to have microwave lights, then you're all set! :D

Would it melt snow in front of you? Because then you dont have to worry about getting winter tires and less salt etc..

I was thinking.. Wouldnt same technology in laser pointers work in the headlights? and make it wider beam out of it by using cut offs shields and reflectors.

i dunno they cam out with the xenons which in my oppinion do an amazing job and use less power then the halogens so why are they planning on fooling around with it more. Just so they can instal a smaller alternator? I think its a stupid idea

Sounds interesting. If you watch the video, one of the main positive points is that it doesn't use electrodes that wear out. So, these lights should last a lot longer.

If HIDs cause enough glare when installed in reflector headlights..that you can barely see where you going, now imagine what it could cause with these installed:loco

I think (some) of you people are missing the point. The point of the video was to test the durability and to street test the reliability of this new technology when pushed to the limit (ie. on a race car).

Although they did mention that it produces a "cleaner" light, that wasn't their main argument. Performance of the light in comparison to halogen or Xenon HID was not the main idea.
