Hey Guys,

Just today (probably been going on for a bit, but im deaf) I noticed driving at random speeds a hissing noise like "sssss" "ssssss" etc... which seems to be coming from my front left wheel well/tire. Faster/Slower I go, faster/slower i hear the "ssss".

I thought maybe its a nail or something in my tire, but I can't seem to find anything? Any suggestions? I washed the car and I think I can still hear it...

Anyone had this problem? Sounds like something (like a leaf?!) or something stuck between brakes and disk....

:(

might be the wheel bearing? search on this site for some threads (I included a couple below) about issues with wheel bearings, I know some people have mentioned having to change it on their cars after hearing some noise that they first thought was a bad tire or something.

Ok, thanks for your help! My car is a 2007... a little early to change a bearing, no?!

it would probably be a bit early for a wheel bearing issue but you never know. However, considering it's only a 2007 then it might be something else alltogether.

You must still be under warranty on your vehicle? Bring it in to the dealership and have them look at it...or if you have a mechanic you trust have him take a look first.

premature wear due to defective part could case that...you're better of bringing your car to the dealer and get it checked as you are still under warranty

Sounds like a brake pad rubbing, do the brakes kick/pulsate at all under hard braking? If so, warped rotor that hits the pad every rotation... Or, if you let it sit for a while between trips, its just rust build up on the rotors, there will be a spot without where the pad sits, thats the spot that creates the break in the hiss.... If it only happens after the car sits for a bit, then goes away after your drive and brake for a while, its just this.
Hope this helps!
