Anyone mind sharing their opinion or review on the amp/sub combo which are sold at FS or BB? I am looking for a cost efficient upgrade of the stock system. Primarily looking for a little more bass.
I've heard it only once and it sounds decent, obviously not comparable to a full sound system upgrade.
Just want to get a better idea before I make a decision.
Cheers!

This is what I will put in my car: Blaupunkt THB200A powered sub
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-KZQyhJDq5R3/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=023THB200A
I have a Blaupunkt THA475PNP amp to put in first (http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?search=tha475pnp&i=023THA475P), and then I will put in the sub sometime next year. (I've already gone over my car mod budget, so I have to save up for a bit.)
The THB200A is small enough to fit under a front seat, and while it won't shake parts off of your car, it will do a nice job of filling in the low-end. And, it does have high-level inputs, so you don't need a LOC.
There is also the the THA555PNP, which is basically a 5-channel version of the THA475PNP, which would let you drive your four speakers plus a separate subwoofer. It has less power for the 4 main channels than the THA475, but more power than the THB200A for the sub.

Im on board with Noisy Crow, a simple 5 channel amp can power an entire system. However, it will lack output comared to getting two seperate amps (1 for your interior speakers and 1 for your subwoofer.) I currently have a 5 channel alphasonik and it powers my 4 interior speakers as well as a single 10 inch. So it all depends on your budget.

How is your Blaupunkt THB200A ? Does it fit under the seat ? Is it worth the money ?

I haven't bought the Thb200A yet.... still saving up my pennies. It should fit under the seat... I measured the space, and tried a mockup using some books and there seems to be plenty of room front-to-back and side-to-side, with the height being close, but doable.

I bought it last friday, will install next friday. I'll let you know if there are any problems with it if you wonder. :)

Ok, so i installed it recently. This sub is decent. Considering that I didn't expect much, it performs very well. Fits under the seat perfectly.
The only thing is that its not powerful enough for my system, whenever i turn it up I just cant hear this sub but at low/mid volume you can definitely notice the lows.
Cheers

Are you running it off of the stock HU?

No, Ive got Alpine deck, 2 alpine 2-way speakers in the front doors, 2 mid bass drivers in the rear doors and 2 3.5" tweeters on the rear deck. All powered by Hifonics ZXi 6408.

look for a place that specializes in car audio. future shop and best buy are good dont get me wrong but places that specalize in it give the best deals IMO. i mean for my original sound system (2 10" clarion subs + box and a 650W clarion amp. cost me about 500 around. i installed it all myself pretty well. and i went to autosonics in guelph. however for the convertor to run it off the stock deck you need to wire it through the rear speakers. its a pain but its well worth spending a few hours doing it. i figure if you have a stock deck nobody will think you have anything in the trunk. untill they hear it :P. however now i have the 2 10s and added 2 more 10" vega's running off a 1200W legacy amp. and its powerful.

Thanks for the update. Did you just shove in under the seat, or did you attach it somehow?

I'm going to attach it somehow as I drive aggressively and the sub comes out from under the seat sometimes :)
Used 250/1 or 500/1 for $200 - $300
Buy a kaption 10" / 12" ...
cheap total for under $400-500.
