View Full Version : Lowering Springs and Winter
How many of you take your springs out and swap them for stock for the winter?
If you do what springs do you have?
Would you suggest I swap my S-Techs out for the winter?

I would suggest it. Unless you barely drive or only drive around Toronto.

I guess it depends on how low you are... prokits h-techs I think many of the members keep them in the winter and get around fine. this will be my first winter on h-techs.
S-techs are obviously lower..so I guess it depends on how much you drive etc.
Cereal, you swap your springs out every year?

I think you going to have hard time getting around in the winter, unless its dry outside but 5-10cm and you will have problems. You most likely need to swap back or find winter beater or take bus.

I think it all depends on your setup and the kind of springs you're using.
You need to take into consideration how low your drop is and if you're using a lip kit/ body kit.
I have H-Tech's with the OEM lip kit and I plan on leaving everything as is for the winter. Mind you the majority of my travels is around the GTA. (I also have my wife's Rav4 as a backup :P)
I am iching to know this question too. I just bought winter tiresand have pro-kits... But i don't think the mazda3 is suited to be a snowplow. :chuckle: I find the car is low ground clearance to start. I'm wondering how the plastic panneling at the bottom of the car will fare. I only was stuck once last year... but we had over a foot. My friend with a Lancer got stuck as well. Same parking lot.

I put mine back to stock last year. I'm swapping out my Koni springs for RBs soon.

I am staying at my height for the winter, I am on the lower eibachs, sportlines I think?
I am just going to leave it parked on really snowy days. And keep the end of my driveway clear.
Oh and I have a spare lip.

I had prokits on and I switched them over as soon as I had the money to do so. I was hearing stuff hit the bottom of the car so the car went up. I would get coilovers over springs for this reason now as I could do it in my driveway for free

I didn't feel like contributing in any way but to state the obvious...

i had a hard time driving with my h-techs last winter so for s-techs i'd for sure swap them out or else you'd be plowing the roads
