View Full Version : Engine ticks after accelerating

Is it just me? Whenever I accelerate, I notice a loud clanking noise as if a screw was lose or something on the front of the righthand side. I brought it to 2 dealerships including MOT and they cannot replicate or hear the noise. I brought my friends in and even they notice it. What could it be? I brought it again to another dealership and they said they didn't hear anything. I am not going nuts here...what should I do or rather look at? I notice the noise clanks when my tiptronic changes gears..could it be transmission?

its ur engine , its got nothing to do with ur transmision at all, read my threads

Dufferin Mazda? Thats all I got.. I already went to 2 dealerships and they found NOTHING and all the mech's can say is "workorder"

Sounds familiar. Mine is making a similar noise, sounds like a ping. After 42,000 km it is still there and no dealer can hear it.:flaming

I'm only 7.4km down the road right now and it annoys the heck out of me...sounds almost like a jackhammer hitting some concrete. :bang oh and I have that ticking noise problem on idle too but I only hear it after I run the car for awhile then when I put the car into a complete stop, I hear it.

Could be your injectors. Does it match with your RPMs?

ogata, my problem is similar to urs, i got the part changed today, cant say if it fixed it or not cause i only drove it for 5 mins, couldent hear anything, i usually hear it after a long highway drive, will post update if the issue is fixed. if u want the part number message me and i'll find the paper and tell u

What part was it? MOT put misc and the service guy didn't tell me anything and Agincourt Mazda found nothing wrong during my oil change! :flaming

iam not home right now once i get home i;ll message u the part number , i was driving today and did not hear a thing. it was like completely silent the car , sort of like it was off, i was soo happy lol, No more dreaded ticking noise, i am gonna make a new thread with the part number since it seems like iam the only one with this fix.
