Hey I have a galaxy grey '07 hatch. Thinking about painting my stock rims (snowflake) and winter rims (old protege rims) to give it some style. But I have no idea what colour would match with the grey, any suggestions?

I also want to get my calipers painted with blue lugs, so perhaps a colour combo?

No spacers for the rear but as a result of the rubbing I shaved off some rubber on the sidewall.:(

I think the 18" Mazda3 speed, look awsome on our cars.
They might be a bit heavier than other sets, but Mazda chose them for the 'Speed' model and that's good enough for me.

Well they picked them for the Speed3 because it has a lot more power than our 2.5 3's. Regardless though, for day to day driving, I doubt it will impact it too much. My Work wheels are probably about the same weight.

Summer shoes: Kuhmo Escta SPT KU31 - 225/40ZR18 on MSR model 065 - 18"x7.5" rims. I originally wanted a set of 18" Ruff Racing model R310 rims but would have had to wait til probably the end of summer before they came in so I went with the MSRs instead.

Just installed some MSR 086 rims w/stock rubber. This is what they were supposed to look like:

The pinstripe is waaay too dark when there is no light shining on it :( not happy about that, but at least I only paid 400 bucks for them.

lol I was looking at the tenzo's but i forget why I didn't go that route. Think I was looking for 18x7.5, and I got a good kijiji deal on the MSRs for $400 tax included... I was looking at 900 or something for the tenzos. I'm thinking that maybe I could try to use the touchup paint brush to make them bigger/brighter though... wonder how that would look :P

yea, for over double the price. besides the thin red lip looks better. i like the fact you can't see it from a mile away, much more subtle and clean looking in my opinion.
and you could refinish that lip pretty easily if you really wanted

If you're hell-bent on making the red "pop", the best way I can think of would be to inset red scotchlite (http://www.amazon.com/3M-03458C-Scotchlite-Reflective-Tape/dp/B000BOB18A). That way even small amount of light would make the red stand out (although it may be a bit obnoxious/over-the-top at night, or totally badass depending on your point of view). I'm also not sure how you'd deal with the rim curvature, or how well it would stay affixed long-term.

Still, it'd be neat to try and would certainly make your rims stand out.

It's called a front lip, use mine as a plow all the time ;) lol driving low through the winter isn't all that bad really, just gotta be real careful

what tint is that on rear and front?

I went with the darkest legal tints which if I remember correctly was 5 in the back and 35 in the front.

Probably wasn't me in the Bolton area, I haven't been down there in awhile since I moved up to barrie

They are very, very nice rims. :thumbsup

As for mine, zero problems with fitment; they're OEM MS3 rims, so no reason that you'd have any problems with them. Using 225/40R18 tires will keep your speedo/odo well within acceptable deviation (it's less than 1% if I recall correctly).

Are you using the stock Dunlop SP Sport 2050's or did you change the tires out...i'm not reading the best reviews for that tire.

The seller opted to keep the stock tires for his new rims (TSW Nurburgrings, interestingly enough).

I'm running Hankook Ventus V12 Evo k110s in a 225/40R18 stock fitment. Great tires - pretty quiet and very grippy both dry & wet. Only unknown is how many kilometres I will get out of them (treadwear 280).

i think the sbc coating gets best of both worlds. in the dark it looks like hyper black, in the lite it looks like lite chrome. haha i am bias of course tho. :D

Those speed rims will look good no matter what. But everyone does gold or black, try something different. Something fun, like purple, or white, or blue. Be creative!

Those black and red rims are sweet. I recent got come auto repair vancouver bc (http://www.oktirevancouver.ca/Car-Repairs.aspx), but I might need to go back to get some new rims.

So it's either gold, white, or leave them as is... problem with red is not too many colours work

I think a dark gold/bronze looks amazing on a red car.
