I have an 06 base model sedan. As far as i know it only has two speakers up front unless mine are not working in the back.
I would like to upgrade the speakers, i have read a lot of things people saying it is usless to have speakers in the back. If there are no speakers in the back will i have to run wires or just install speakers?
I do not know much about speakers and which brand i should choose, i am looking for some good suggestions.
I am going to keep the stock head unit. I do not need the best sound possible, just looking for decent sound (better than stock) unless it is suggested that i put in an amp. If so what is a good amp?
There are to many choices and everyone has a different answer, LOL.

the rear doors are pre-wired for speakers.
all you have to do is install them, and hook up the wires that are already there.
imo, i hated not having rear speakers. it just sounds bad, and there wasnt any bass to them.
i ended up installing some infinity speakers in the rear, and upgrading the fronts to Alpine type R component speakers.
i also amp all 4 speakers with a 200 watt 4 channel amp, so each speaker gets an additional 50 watts, which is more than enough, and my sound system is plenty loud.

Your going to get a LOC kit and run from the HU to an amp. From the amp to the speakers and sub.
It isn't complicated, it is harder deciding what kind of speakers and amp to get.

bingo.
altho, the stock deck limits the bass at a higher volume.
and some LOC's claim to restore this bass.
mine did, but it still wasnt enough to warrant what it cost me..

What are the specs on your speakers and amp (model)?

I am looking for some actual recommendations on speaker and and amp setups (models). I want something that is not going to break the bank but at the same time give me decent sound quality.

Send Jeff at Audio Heaven a PM. He can hook you up! Either go with a 6x8 or 6.5 component in the front. Then just add something cheap in the back. Even if you run them completely off of the stock deck it will make a huge difference in sound quality.

Almost any aftermarket speakers offer better sound... It depends how much money you are willing to spend. you can easily spend $5k on a good system. It's up to you.

I just bought some components for $39.99. They're only 5.25" but they sure did make a difference.
