Hi everyone
i previously bought my HID off this guy and he his products suck ass.......
every 6 months my ballast burns out........ and now he will not even cover me under warranty after i went back like 4 times to replace 4 DIFFERENT ballasts!
i am very frustrated and disappointed in his products and i'm thinking of getting a new kit out there that will actually last for years
do you guys recommend me any HID kits that are GOOD QUALITY and will fit the mazda 3 ? currently my fog light one is busted......
how is Prolumen or KWD i know DEVIN sells it.....
and i also know SSG sells Prolumen

I've heard of plenty of warranty horror stories in dealing with Devin. For that reason alone, I'd buy something SSG stocks.
+ 1 for SSG. noone should hesitate in dealing with him!
I have a prolumen kit in my low beams for 1 year and has no problems so far.

i want to see if they're good quality .... hassle free
i want a reliable KIT!

SSG sounds very good but the thing is he doesn't have lifetime warranty that others have

Just get the prolumens from peter. I had them on my mazda 3 on fogs/lowbeams and now i bought another set for my civic (fogs/lowbeams) they are wicked. The price is good, quality i dont know if its considered good but i've had no problems with it whatsoever. And best of all, local warranty. Walk in with anything and come out with a new thing if they have it in stock.

You want quality and you want it to be cheap? it never works that way man. Even philips do'nt offer lifetime warranty. They are one of the best HIDs out there and they are used on stock cars with HIDs. You're gonna have to stick with the truth, good stuff don't come cheap, cheap stuff don't last long.

i'm just afraid of the warranty cause he only has 1 year warranty what if that blows up after that?
it's way too expensive to having to replace ballast every year as has happened to me
and when i got the kits it was like 530 for 2 it wasn't cheap.....

what's the difference between
35 watt ballasts and the 55 watt ballasts?

are the apexcone ones good?

55watt is brighter then 35 watt. And i've used nothing else but prolumens because i never heard anyone had any major problems with them. And with HID kits nowadays, they are so cheap. I know peter can do $400 for 2 sets for you. Compared to $350 a set 1 and a half years ago.
BTW, i'm not speaking on behalf of peter just because i'm in his nextmod team but i'm just saying how the prices are so cheap now with the HID kits and how i never did have any problems with it. A few people on the board right now are still using prolumens and they are still working fine.

20 watts :chuckle I couldn't resist! If you search HIDPlanet or M3F you will find output pics of a 55W kit.
I have Prolumens and I've been burning bulbs about every 9 months or so for the past 3 years. I don't know if anyone else has this problem with Prolumens. Also, I got my kit back in the day when they were like 500 bones. Since then, Prolumen has come out with different kits (I.e., the low pro ballasts).
Right now I'm looking for a proper D2s xenon kit like Hella; Philips; or Matsushita. Honestly, if you're worried about parts failing, spend the money and get a Philips d2s kit. You'll need D2S to H7 adapters though. Doughboy has this set up btw.

I've got the Apexcone 35W H7s. The ballasts are really slim and the light output is great.

+1 for SSG and prolumen.
except for one bulb not turning on all the time (a simple off/on fixes that), i havent had any problems at all.

The quality is very good. I am not sure if Apexcone and DDM are the same thing, my ballasts have "apexcone" stamped into them.

I've had my prolumens for few years now and aside from the "off/on" problem (very rare), they work AWESOME! I can vouch for SSG as well, he is the shiznit! My HID's were probably the only thing i didn't buy from him and wish i did. Warranty problems can be a HUGE issue if you go to Devin as one of my first bulbs blew in a few weeks (fine now), but it took 3 months for Devin to replace them.

I just installed the prolumen 6000k that I bought from Peter, and let me tell you it is a drastic improvement over stock. As for Peter, he assured me that if I had any problems he would replace the parts, rather than sending them out for the company to replace. In summary, so far so good.

Pearly is right on. There is no quality kits for cheap. I bought a Philips based kit four years ago. Never had one issue with the bulbs or ballast. Bulbs are still very bright.

Although I blow bulbs like nobody's business, I have been getting them replaced under warranty. I'm not sure what the warranty is on my ballasts but the place I picked up my kit from has been extremely good about replacing my bulbs. Knock on wood, there have been no issues with my ballasts to this point. They only have to last until I complete my retrofit...
Keep in mind when ordering from the US you'll have to pay shipping, fx on USD, and I don't know if there are brokerage fee's and taxes on top of that. Take that into account and see if the price is similar to what you can get from our sponsors here. For me, I'd rather pick up the kit in person as opposed to having it shipped. Recently I've ordered some parts from across the boarder which arrived damaged.
I picked up a wicked kit locally for $180 installed on my fiancee's car. I can't remember the brand though. Output is awesome, but that is partly due to the fact that the projector lenses are crystal clear.

I installed a 55 watt, 4500K DDM H7 kit from dabears2k in June. No problems so far and I got a prompt, helpful response to the only question I had. I have no problems recommending dabears2k or DDM kits.
I also bought a 35 watt 3000K H11 set from extremelightz.com (http://www.extremelightz.com/), located in Ottawa. Delivery took a few weeks as they ship from China but after a couple of months they are still working just fine. The colour is kind of funky though - 3000k is supposed to be yellow but these are quite green. Personally, I like it, having been pleased with a set of green "rain lights" 20 odd years ago, but such a drastic variation in colour does make me wonder about QA. But, as I say, they work fine.
