I am looking to purchase a new Mazda3 Sport GT. I went to Erin Mills Mazda and spoke to Paul Wong. We negotiated a deal. This was Saturday. It was late and I had to be somewhere. So We agreed on a price and I told him I would be back on Monday to finalize everything.
I called him today to let hm know I am coming in and he tells me that he can't do that deal anymore, it was only for Saturday and I would have to pay more and also that he seems to have forgotten that he was going to do the full tint for me!
This happend when I got my 2005 model as well!
What the hell is going on?
I live in Mississauga and if there are any sales people that will talk to me, other than from Erin Mills Mazda (I will never buy from them again if this deal doesn't go thru!), let me know. I will give you full details about what was discussed and the pricing.

I am so pissed at these guys.

Anyone else have similar experiences with them?

This will be my third Mazda. I had a 2002 Protege 5, then the 2005 Mazda3 Sport GT and now I am looking to get a new Mazda3 Sport GT.

I just can't belive he is doing the same thing he did 4 years ago when I got the 2005.

I am hoping a sales rep somewhere else can help. I am ready to do the deal.

Don't buy from them, but obviously you figured that out on your own. It's annoying how some dealers are so brutal when it comes to sales, etc.

Send "thebiz" (Jeff) a PM and see what he can do for ya. He's at MOT (Mazda of Toronto) and doesn't mess around. I got my car from him an so have many others on here.

EDIT: CRAP! 5 posts before I posted this. Man I'm slow today! lol

I bought my new 3 gx at Erin Mills from a guy called Warren, about one month ago.
He was fine, no problems negotiating the price, but the guy who takes care of financing, Sean or something, he was very difficult to deal with.
He was trying to sell me all these different warranties, rust proofing, life insurance, etc., so after I declined everything, he kept convincing me.
I felt like I offended him by declining everything. :)

I was in the same situation as m3driver, after i declined multiple times for things such as their "cheap 550 dollar tint" job the girl tried to make me buy extended warranty because "what if god doesent exist"...... yes iam not kidding i mentioned that god will protect me if anything happend and then shes like thats good i agree but what if it doesent exist , which i found very childish.... and then i mentioned mazda was a good quality car and then she mentioned "u never know how good it really is".... lol way to market ur brand and dealership +100 for dufferin mazda

Yes, you should contact the Biz. He will at least be upfront and straight with you and you can decide from there whether you keep shopping or close the deal with him.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Nothing like being jerked around. If you manage to get a deal from TheBiz make sure to give the manager at Erin Mills Mazda a call and let them in on the money they didn't get from you and the behavior of their sales staff.

Thanks for all your help guys (and girls?).

I did go see Jeff and closed the deal right then and there.
Erin Mills Mazda called me 4 times on my 20 minute drive over to Jeff. Each time coming back with a lower and lower price but they were still far from what Jeff did for me.
I was even signing documents with Jeff when I got another phone call and they said if I came in right now I would get this special price. Still no good.

I am very disappointed with them over at Erin Mills Mazda, considering that this would have been the 3rd Mazda from them in 7 years! I can tell you one thing, they do a lot of sales, but not because of certain sales people, it's because of the quality of their product!

This site is a great help when you are looking for answers.

Jeff was great. He was gentle with me... You know what I mean!!!

No crap from him.

I am in sales as well. The most important thing is to build a connection of trust with your client. Jeff did that on the phone before I even ended up meeting him!

I have to say Mazda of Toronto and Jeff (TheBiz) came thru for me. I will recommend them whole-heartedly.

So I pick up my new Mazda3 Sport GT on Wednesday afternoon. Sunlight Silver again! Love that colour.

Thanks again to everyone that helped with such quick and great advice.

Thanks again Jeff. You Rock!

I wrote up a PDI workorder for your car just before I left work. So my guys are gonna pick up your car and get it ready for Wednesday.

Congrats on the purchase.

I wouldn't worry about complaining about those other guys. You already hurt them by not giving them your business.

Thanks Flip! I have to say your service is awesome so far!

Maybe you're right about the complaining. I did hurt them by not giving them the business.

Thanks for keeping me up to date with my new ride!!

Do you think the TSB's need to be looked at for this model? The bass situation on the stereo or anything else?

I really appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Well I have been looking for a few weeks now. I went in on Saturday to test drive the Matrix. Great looking car on the outside, terribly dated on the inside.

I went to Mazda because I do love the product. This is my 3rd Mazda in 7 years.

I sat with Paul Wong the leasing manager for 2 hours while he played his game going back and forth to his manager.

He came back with a price that was $5.00 more per payment than I wanted to spend. I was fed up with the games so I said here is the price I want. Call me when you can do it. And then I left. He called me that afternoon and said ok we can do it com ein now. I told him I couldn't be back until Monday to do the deal. He persisted then when he realised he was pissing me off he said he would see me Monday.

Monday comes and he calls me at noon, 3 hours before our scheduled appointment, and tells me he can't do that price anymore it was only for Saturday. His manager won't allow him to sell it at that price anymore.

I told him to quit screwing around. He said he would call me back in a few minutes. 3 hours passed so i called him and aksed is this a deal or not. He gave me a song and dance about no money in the deal etc. So I got pissed off and posted my message here.

Within about 4 minutes I got messages to contact TheBiz at MoT. So I did.

10 minutes of phone conversation and TheBiz says come in and we can do the deal.

That was how I came to see TheBiz @ MoT.

I am still pissed off at Erin Mills Mazda. TheBiz can tell you how many phone calls I got from Erin Mills Mazda while I was with him. They kept calling back giving me lower and lower pricing. But they still couldn't match what TheBiz was offering me and not to mention the great service and comfort of it all.

I would recommend them to everyone!

And to top it off, I get a message from FlipDaddy, their service person (maybe manager?), last night letting me know the PDI was done and they were getting the car ready by Wednesday.

I can't stress enough how important these little things and little contacts are to me. Especially when people are getting tighter and tighter with their money. You have to treat people with respect and courtesy to build the trust.

I am in sales and that statement is the end all and be all for sales people.

Erin Mills Mazda will learn when they start losing sales due to the word of mouth we all offer to our friends and families.

I have never heard of the $500 gift certificate. I wouldn't want one from them anyways. I used to deal with Manny in the parts dept. Not sure if he is still there, but he was a good guy. I got screwed out of some winter tires and rims I bought there. They called me in to get them done after waiting a week to get them, went in and waited fo ran hour while they had my car in the shop.

Manny comes out and tells me he is sorry but someone sold my tires and 1 of my rims! I was pissed. He asked me to wait another hour while he sent someone to pick up a new set of tires and rims for me. So I did.

2 Hours later he comes out and tells me that 3 tires are on ok but 1 of the rims are warped and he can't get me a new rim now.

I lost my mind. He saw I was pretty pissed so he called some otehr location and they drove one up to him.

After 6 hours waiting... Manny came out and said the car is done and also gave me a his and hers set of Mazda watches.

Now I know they are not worth much, but it was a nice gesture.

I don't seem to have too much luck with Erin Mills Mazda.

Wow what an ordeal. When salespeople play that sort of game I walk. Did that with the BMW and found another dealership. Called the old one and told them what I bought and how they lost the sale from the back and forth BS. They were not pleased to say the least. Talked the owner of the dealership and he was even more angry at his sales people for fubaring the deal. I say do the same. Its constructive critisism and they need it obviously.

Jeff (TheBiz) took care of me very well. I met Joe (FlipDady) today as well.

Yeah I am pretty excited. This is my 3rd Mazda in 7 years.

I had the 2005 M3 Sport GT silver and traded that in today.

I am finding a lot of cool new stuff on this car that I did not have on the old car.

I just found the cupholders in the rear seat centre armrest! Wicked!

Did I see you there?

When do you get yours?

Glad it all worked out for you. When I was looking at different cars, many of the sales people before I got my Mazda would do sneaky things like ask me about my trade to try to figure in the price with the trade. Or they'd give me a price that was MSRP without even suggesting anything off as an opening to our discussion. Some didn't even call me back - just weren't interested in making the sale and I was paying cash!

You should write a letter to the owner. Taking the time to put down what happened in a well thought out letter has a strong impact if it sticks to the facts and isn't inflammatory - just lays out what they did wrong.

I am not so sure they will do anything about it. If they don't empower the managers of the locations to keep the clients happy then I don't expect the owners to a rat's ass.

I am really losing faith in the dealerships. There are some great sales people that get a bad rep due to the service personnel and then there is the flip side of the coin.

The sales person I dealt with at Erin Mills Mazda got greedy. It would have been my third car with him, but I have to say I was pretty naive with my last 2 vehicles.

I won't go back to them for anything now.

Mississauga Mazda has always given me great service. Jeff from Mazda of Toronto has given me great service.

I have an affinity for Mazda's. Obviously if this is my third vehicle in 7 years with them. But I have to say that if the service does not get any better from these dealerships I am probably not going to buy another Mazda.

I left Honda after 2 cars because of the crappy service I recieved. Everytime I got them back from service there were new dents it.

Not sure what to do anymore other than buy used vehicles and not worry about how they look.
