Hi,
Did anyone else have problems with ALC feature and were you able to get it fixed?
On my brand new gx sport (800km) ALC doesn't respond at all. It doesn't matter what level I select, 1, 2, or 3, nothing happens when I increase or decrease my speed. Is there something else I need to set besides selecting a level?

ALC is really not that noticeable well atleast to me. Did you try setting on level 3 then drive from 0-120 with steady accelaration, is there volume change? make sure you set the volume on your radio to something descent

Man I hate that feature. Utterly useless in my opinion.

There is nothing else you have to do except choose a level.Mine works fine at level 1, any higher and it's too much.....could just be the unit needs to be reset! meaning disconnect the battery for a few minutes.

@x o k x: I did try all three levels and I don't notice any change in the sound, just like it's completely off.
@Cardinal Fang: I don't think I will use this feature either, but I'd like to have it fixed in case I decide to sell my car in the future, plus it's a brand new car, I was kind of expecting it to work properly.
@Flagrum 3: Thanks, so now I know mine is definitely defective. I have my first service in January, so I will have them to look at it then.
Thanks guys.

You'd have to drive at an increased pace to notice any difference in volume or it did just that, louder to compensate for the additional road noise.

I have set mine on level 3 and it works fine. I was once driving on the highway (maybe 90km/h or 100km/h) and noticed that I had to increase my volume to higher than the usual 6-7. I was wondering why and all of a sudden i realized that the ALC may have been reset after I had disconnected the cable at the back of the HU (during sat radio install). I increased the ALC to level 3 with the volume at 6 while driving at about 100km/h and voila! the sound increase to what I wanted. :)

put the ALC on 3, take a drive on the highway, say about 110 and then change the setting to "Off". If the audio level doesn't change at all, get it checked out at the dealer.
