Winter time !

okay .. i need to know which brand winter tires are the best out there? when i saw snow fall FIRST time this year in OCT !? .. i got scared driving with summers on .. i had michelin for my accord back in the days but now i got my mazda3 this year (summer) .. and this will be my first winter with it. i had 17" summer michelin for my accord and i would drop them to 16" winter with michelin (forgot which ones).. i will be doing the same with size with the mazda3 .. i have right now on my mazda3 17" michelins pilot summer tires? (forgot which ones) and i would want to drop down to 16" for winter .. any suggestions for which brand to go with for winter tires? by the way .. those michelins i ran with my accord in winter were very good .. never got stuck and we had about over 30cm of snow last year.. it sticked onto the road well too.

Do a search for winter tires on this site - there are TONS of threads - check out Simply's tire deals - they describe the characteristics of many tires. Me, I've had Dunlop, Nokia, Yokohama, Continental, Pirelli, Michellin, Gislaved, and Toyo (probably forgetting some) - The Nokia's (Hak 10's) definitely stuck out in my mind as ones that I really really liked, but honestly, I haven't had a "bad" set of winter tires. Ask 3 people what the best snow tire is and you'll get 8 different answers!!!! :)
