Hey guys, Im planning on getting rid of my clarion 10" sub and going with 1 or maybe even 2 shallow mount subs. Anyone know where I can get a good deal on them? Im still using my Alphasonik 5 channel amp which put outs a healthy 320 watts RMS at 2 ohms. Any help would be appreciated. I just need the speaker for now unless it's a good price with the enclosure. I was planning on building a stealth-like box over the winter. Thanks guys

How is the sound quality on those subs? I just checked the link it's 70USD and free shipping to Canada. I might pick up 2 lol. It's about half the price of the pioneer or clarion shallow subs i've seen locally

sq can be subjective...to what I listen to, it sounds great. it's in a sealed fg enclosure and not boomy. it can get loud though. gains on my sub amp is below half otherwise it will over power my front stage. 2 of these in the trunk and your set with room for groceries.

Will. ED said I should get them in 3-5 days. Im buildling two seperate boxes for them. And since they're only require 0.3 Cubic foot enclosures. Should be an interesting build so that the boxes dont move around.

it's too bad they won't fit under the front seats....would have been a cool install.
you can build them downfiring in the trunk so you won't have to worry about damaging them. when people ask what they are just tell them it's a step stool or something :)
and when you want to show them off just flip the box over.

Well they are infinite baffle compatible as well. So im thinking about building something on the rear deck. Any ideas skunk2?

not sure about the rear deck as you would have to cut it....no existing speaker holes there.
the rear deck plastic panel is also notorious for rattling so that's another problem you have to deal with....you'd be rattling that panel with those 2 sq 10's in the trunk as it is :).if you want an IB setup maybe on the rear seat backs. you will lose the functionality though of being able to stick long cargo in the trunk. also make sure that the cabin is sealed from the trunk to get best results. try it with a sealed box for now and see how you like it. all depends on how much work you'll be willing to do. i'll post pics of my setup maybe tomorrow to give you ideas on how you can apply the sq10's on your car.

Yeah Im getting some rattling now from the clarion I currently have. But I was thinking of doing an IB setup on the back seats. Probably fit both on one seat so If I do have large cargo and I can still use the other side. I've never done a setup like that though, I've always used enclosures. But I would like to use the baffle design and get some dynamat and line my trunk.

might not work well if you just use half the back seat....the front of the speaker needs to sealed from the rest of the trunk.......eDead is on sale at 50% off not sure if it's also free shipping.

What I meant by half the seat. I meant putting both subs on one side of the car. But I was reading about how to install infinite baffles. Seems simple but lacks output. I might try it out since it will only cost me one piece of board.
