I like, how much? Do they stay on all the time or just when the night lights turn on

To guys at least size is everything.

Ok whole bunch of questions to ask here.

1. Where did you get them?
2. How did you install them?
3. How do they operate?
4. Can someone do a group buy?

Thanks guys! :)

http://www.oznium.com/led-flex-strips (I chose x2 19" WHITE Led Flex Strips)

There are various methods to install them, for now since it's winter and it's bitter cold out already! I installed them EXTERIOR of the housing, and alligned them across the top of the headlights and they fit snug between the crack of the hood and headlight housing. HOWEVER summertime comes, I will take apart the housing and install them along the bottom on the inside just like the Audi style.

There are also various ways you can wire these for different purposes and ways. I personally used an empty fuse slot in the engine bay fuse block, I'll try and get some pictures, but I wired them to the O2 Heater fuse (number 30 I believe) with a Red Fuse #10. Both positive wires were connected to that fuse, and than you can find any ground to attatch both negatives to.

The method I installed them, they operate whenever the car is turned on. So now I technically have DRL (since they were disabled for my HID's). And the cool part is after I turn the car off, the LED's stay on for about 5 - 10 seconds and than switch off. But other ideas are ordering orange/yellow led's, and hooking them up to your signal lights.

As for group buy, I'm not sure, but if you buy a large quantity I'm sure there's some sort of deal they'll work out for you.

Tsirpas, you have to let me know if you make it out to one of the meets. I need to see these up close. With respect to how "snug" the fit is. Does your hood make contact with them when you close it. I'm worried about the LED's breaking.

Tsirpas

Sure, just lemme know when he next meet is! And it makes contact but it doesn't crush them AT ALL, it literally sits right above them and shuts just above them.

I saw this mod over on the Mazda3 forums also. I have been meaning to order the parts, but I have been pretty lazy. The main deterrent for me is that the LED strip running along the top of the housing looks out of place and not OEM when I open the hood. I tent to try and make all my mods look like it was a possibility that the car came with it.

Wanna do the LED's just above the fog lens. There's a perfect spot to put them. See the pic below from M3F.

I would love to them in this location also, but Canadian law would technically prevent me from doing so. From my understanding you are only allowed 4 frontal running lights, hence why your fogs turn off when your high beams and low beams are on. If I was to have eyebrows and these when I have my low beams on at night I would have 6 light sources. If you put some switch then I guess you would be fine.

Anyways it would so clean if you drilled holes in the back of the housing to matching the existing LED pattern on the LED strip. Attach the strip to the back of the fog housing with just the LEDs popping out the front through the holes.

Anyways I also had the idea of lining the edges of the taillights with the super thin red LED strips. The strip would sit between the light housing and the body. I looked at it today and it seems like there is little chance to fit anything in that small gap. I guess el wire may fit, but i will have to see.

Joe's idea would be pretty clean, but I was thinking of getting a set to line up along the bottom of my headlights instead of DRL :D

I am sure the shots you have do not do this mod justice.

Like angel eyes, the LED eyebrows wouldn't break the law. The combined output wouldn't put you over 300 candela. The lights are just accessories and produce no usable light output.

Nice eyes,

I did mine this past weekend!!! I need to get some pics up too!

The look great, and are bright as hell! Molding tape does a wicked job, and they are very snug around the fender no need to try to tape them down in there.

The hood does close, but you need to be careful not to slam it down, just push it down with a nice firm push, and you are good to go

Easiest mod yet, and very cost effective.. total cost without relays is only about 45 cad

that looks awesome! I would likely put mine under the headlights though, but everyone has their own style. When i did my HID's too i had no DRL's so this would be a worthy mod for me too (rather than having to switch on my HID's all the time) lol

nice mod! looks great!

Tim!!! Where have you been man.... Nice analogy!!!

You wouldn't believe how poplular these Audi style LEDs are...

I remember when an EVO sported them in their fog lights at last summers TASR show and shine, and as well as Importfest.

I have this feeling its going to be a common show piece in car shows.

Personally I wouldn't put them in my headlights, probably somewhere similar to AITCH's but I don't have plans in putting them.

I will only add them, if they looked like this:

INTEGRATED.

As others have said, to each their own. I personally think they look way better than the Highbeams as the DRLS (2007 and up MZ3). I have had countless people comment on how nice they look and I personally love them (that may be due to the fact that I love Audi due to their involvement in the AMLS). They are a lot less rice/tacky than the standard eyebrows IMO, and they are functional. :)

Just a dumb question about the new "trend", how durable are they to rocks, gravel roads(if following someone)? Are they like Christmas lights one breaks or burns out they all are out (ok so the last question was more of just a joke lol ) But yes in the process of buying them :)

They are contained in a flexible rubber strip... they would stand up to road debris better than your headlights. As for the burning out... well, they are LEDs so they won't. But if one was defective, I believe that a couple of adjacent ones would go out as well, as they have to be trimmed in groups of three.

I don't have pics of mine in direct sunlight, and they are hidden a bit more being lower in the bumper. They are noticable, but not as bright as Audi's. They use a bigger and brighter LED for their DRLs, so you can't expect the same brightness out of these LED strips.

theres like a 50page thread on M3F about this mod......lol its not "new" , i think the thread there is 2-3 years old. and its kinda a ghetto mod. it would look nicer if the LEDs were inside the light housing. there have been some ppl on M3F who put LEDs inside the light housing and it looks soooo amazing. im to lazy to find the guy who did it, but if you got free time search M3F forums for it, what he did looked good, this is semi-cheese.

I want to know what DDE ring he used for the turn signals. All current kits only come with rings for the low and high beams; I'd like rings either in all 3 housings or in the turns and high beams (I essentially always have my HIDs on, day or night).
