alright, so im with fido, and they're warranties and customer service is garbage. the speaker on my 1 month old nokia 5200 stopped working, so i went to fido with it. they ended up giving me a refurbished 5200, and its nothing like my old one. all the pre-stored themes, graphics, ring tones, everything, is different.
i went back to fido, and they just told me to call customer service.
so, i was talking with the guy at rogers, and he said that since fido is owned by rogers, i dont need to pay to end my contract. i can just end it on the spot, and then my contract gets renewed when get my new phone.
so, i told the guy i wanted something decent for once, i he suggested the samsung jack. saying it has a 3G network, and all this.
now, before i jump in and get this phone ($25 on a 3 year plan with the data plan or watever), i want to know if i should get it or not.
i dont want to be screwed again in another 2 or 3 months
so, TM3, does anyone have this phone, and can give me some reviews to it?
and is there any other phone i could be looking at?
i want sometihng decent, and im kinda liking the idea of having internet on my phone for when im bored.
thanks in advance.

Hey i had the Samsung Jack for about 4 days and was sick of it. I went back to fido and traded it in for the Moto Q9H. They said it's discontinued but if you go into a fido store they might have it in stock. I got it free when I extended my contract. The Jack has a slower processor and a much smaller keyboard. Since I was offered both free I took the Q9h. Also the GPS on the Jack from fido is locked. Meaning you need to use telenav that charges you $10 a month. But if you do end up with the Jack. Check out this site: www.modaco.com They have a program to unlock the GPS antenna to be used with external GPS software like garmin, tomtom, etc. Hope this helps.
My brother has the Samsung Jack. He hates it. I tried it once and it is super slow. Lag time vs the iphone. Drove me nuts.

hmmm.
i went to rogers today, and i was looking at the blackberry bold. any feedback on it?
it is rather expensive at $300 (the guy said he's sell it to me for $250), and my plan is going to be $30 more a month to $80 ish..(which works out to close to a grand a year....eek)
like, i dont need a phone like this at all, but i want something fun, and i like the idea of having high speed internet on my phone.

The blackberry bold is an excellent handset. However it's overpriced in my opinion. Have you looked at the q9h. It also has 3G internet on u're phone. I just got a great deal with fido. Speak to their retention dept. They can give you much better deals then the customer service dept. Also the iphone is definitely over rated.

yea, i may look into that as well...
If you want a blackberry just go with the curve.

Or the new blackberry storm that has a touch screen
the storm is a Bell/Telus only phone, he won't be able to take his contract from Fido/Rogers.

If you're interested in high-speed internet on your phone, IMO there is nothing that comes close to the iPhone. I bought one to kill time on the GO train commute. Love it.

You should check out GSM arena (http://www.gsmarena.com). They've got pretty much every phone out there up with reviews.
Hope this helps with your decision :)

so im leaning toward the BB bold atm, im just have a hard time spending $400 on a phone... ($250 for the phone, $80 for the warranty, and $30 for the activaion fee)
but man, its like a hand held labtop. GPS, WiFi, everything and then some i could ever need in a phone!

is the warranty really worth it? You are likely going to want a new phone 18 months down the road.

If you think the bold is like a laptop, try using the iphone. It has the best internet browser imo. Plus, you might end up hating the trackball on the bold as it is very cumbersome to use. Touch screen is the way to go. Check out what BB owners have to say about the bold. http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-9000-series-discussion-bold/146019-new-bold-trackball-problem.html I have tried using my bro-in-law's BB curve and I hated using the trackball to navigate. That's probably because its worn out. And its not even a year old.

my old sony ericson walkman phone died after about a year (turned it on one day, and just got a white screen)
my next phone, the speaker that you listen to on phone calls died after the first month..
this is a $800 phone.... i dont want to take a risk..
my friend wont let me get the iphone, cuz its over rated, and everyone will have it by christmas..... lol.

The bold looks cool, and I really want it, but I'm kind of waiting til the price goes down...I can't justify the upgrade from my curve yet. lol.

I'm running a BB 8830 right now, and it's great. I will be upgrading to the storm, later in the year.

I am also running a BB 8830 and I love the phone. I mostly use the email function, google talk and Blackberry messenger on it. I am waiting for the Storm to come out and then I will pick it up.

so ive deceided that i dont really want to spend all this money on a phone atm...
$400 phone, and $80/month over 3 years, and im looking at close to 3500 with the phone...i have better things to spend my money on...
so maybe i'll look at new phone when my current one starts to die...
^ good because it looks funny when people have blackberry bolds that clearly don't need them for work.
