WRX Wagon vs. Porsche 911 Gemballa GT550 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aj8S2KJcQkM)
Me driving my friend's automatic WRX Wagon with 300 whp (a family hauler with a baby seat in the back :P) at Mosport DDT.
Boost doesn't hit hard until 4000rpm and I left the shifter in "3" as it was my first time driving it around the DDT, so sharp corner exits were a little slow as the rpms fell and boost had to build again.

I would have to say that if you put a professional driver in the Porsche, the WRX wouldn't stand a chance.

if you put a pro at the wheel of the wrx and a pro at the wheel of the porsche, the porsche would stand a chance :chuckle

Honestly you see how easy he loses you in the super small straight.
Anyways hope you had fun :) I love track days :)

yeah, i know..with my regular 3, i was faster than a Lotus Elise, Mustang GT, Lexus IS-F and a bunch of other cars a mazda3 had no business being on the track with. :) at the DDT, it's all driver, but having a quick, balanced car does help.

like i said, coming out of that corner the car was out of boost (2.0L with an 18G turbo) and i was basically waiting for it to build. if i had downshifted it to 2 and kept the rpms closer to 4000, it woulda been a different story. if the car were a 5spd manual, i might have caught up to him a whole lap earlier :chuckle
Anyways hope you had fun :) I love track days :)
always a good time at the DDT.
