Just wondering what the going rate is for the Mazda 3 stock 16" Snowflakes and OEM tires (TOYO), my tires have about 11000km on them, only had the car since June.

Since i'm gonna have the Snows put on I was hoping to offload the original rims/tires to make some money for a new set of rims/tires for summer.

Can anyone help me out with a a ballpark figure on the type of return i should be looking at?

We are talking mint condition here.

Thanks

Instead of spending the money on new rims and tires for winter why not use the stcok rims it came with and buy some new rims for summer.

I decide not to buy steel rims and snows for my car and instead i bought new 17" chrome rims with tires and i am going to use my stock 16" for winter...and when the toyos wear out i will buy snow tires for the factory rims...

Yeah i thought about that, I just didnt know how the stock all seasons would hold up in winter (My first car) lol yeah been drivin dads old 96 voyager for the longest time)..

So i thought it would be wise to invest in the snow tires, considering i have a daily commute from Scarborough to Oshawa.

I'm also just thinking about holding on to the tires.. I'm not quite sure yet..

If i were you i would just buy snow tires for the stock rims and then sell the all seasons and buy new rims and tires.....i paid for my new american racing chrome rims $1384 tax in

+1 If your choice is between bling and winter tires... go with the winter tires. It doesn't matter what rims you put winter tires on... even a crappy old set of steelies, as long as they are sound, would work just fine. The stock all-seasons are HORRIBLE in snow and ice.

I think $800 is overly optimistic to be honest.

I sold brand new 17 inch snowflakes with RSA's for $800 when I got my car last June.

yewah figured 800 is a bit much

thanks for the input guys.. i'll see what i can get

you think i may get more if i split the tires ad the rims, and sell em off individually?

I doubt if i go to a used tire store i would get much eh?

We'll see.. thanks though info really helps

I just bought a set of 2006 16" Mazda 3 rims from an autowrecker yesterday for $200. I'll take post pics tomorrow when I install them on the car.

I live in BC so it was an autowrecker just outside of Vancouver.

i was able to get 17inch stock 2006 rims for $230

i bought a set of tires + rims 17inch for $380 off a member

and then another member needed tires but already had rims so instead of wanting to unmount the tires and pay for the fee we agreed to swap our parts and he add $150 cash.

so $380-$150 = $230 for mint condition 17 inch stock rims.

not bad?

Had Hankook W300 (205/60) tires mounted yesterday on 16" Mazda 3 rims. Yesterday afternoon I installed the wheels on the car and it sure feels like a marshmellow ride now compared to the Bridgestones.

+1. I had them put on my speed also about a week ago. Put more air pressure in them and you'll notice a big difference in the ride quality. I'm running 36psi on the fronts and 34psi on the rears.

One thing you'll need to watch for with the higher flex of the 60 sidewall is actual torque steer and lots of it when you really hammer it down in 2nd and 3rd gear. If the road has any imperfections, the combination of torque, softer rubber than the summers and additional sidewall flex will make the tires follow every road imperfection. Try it and you'll know what I mean. Just make sure you have 2 hands on the steering wheel at the time...

This said, I really like how the Icebears run on the highway and their performance in the dry for a winter tire. Pretty awesome actually.

They are also better than I thought they would be in the snow and slush for a performance winter tire. We had a nice dumping of the white stuff last night in Newmarket and i gave them a nice trial run and work-out to test baseline grip so I know what they can do should I ever need to find out in real driving conditions. The iPike 409's on the wife's MZ3 are grippier in the snow and slush, but that is to be expected as they are much softer. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the Icebears performed and when they did lose grip, they did so predictably and with good feedback ,which made it very easy to correct. Nice winter tires both...

I like the look of these rims much better than the ones I have on my GS sedan. I'm thinking of selling mine in the summer as well & getting something like this. Mine have hardly been used at all (only 2 weeks and I put winter tires with steelies on the car).
