I'm a newbie when it comes to cars still (I've only driven my MZ3 for 2 months)

I was thinking about taking out the OEM headlight bulb and replacing them with Halogen bulbs.

Is there anything that I need to do aside from just taking out the bulbs and placing in the new ones? (I have seen the tutorial on how to do it)

If possible, what brands/make of halogens would you recommend (Note to Myk: I didn't think of this when your GB was on because I wasn't over concerned on it.) and where I can I get them (knowing that they are within legal limits)?

Thanks TM3

1st, your stock bulbs are halogen. 2nd I'm guess you mean other white halogen bulbs?
3rd. I would suggest getting a set of HIDs, since they are dirt cheap now in the market. A set of bulbs will run you about $25 but dont' know how long they will last. A set of HIDs some will be about $150 and have 1 year warranty or some might even have lifetime warranty. benefits to HIDs, are much better light output and it looks a lot nicer then traditional halogen bulbs.

only to not touch any bulb with your fingers.. And why do you want to replace the bulbs is it burned out? Becasue it doesnt matter what bulb you get it doesnt get anywhere closer to HIDs in terms of lumens. PM Nextmod, he will hook you up.

What's involved in the installation with HID kits? How hard is it? Since I believe you can't just get the bulb and plug it into the regular socket...

ballasts, drl by pass and harness kit. It requires some skill to install. But very easy once you familiar with it.
PM Protege2886 at OMC he'll hook you up. Depending on price I can get you a good deal with 2 year warranty as well.

question... isn't it the drl bypass is only for those older models where the low beam is also the drl?

Yup. Matt, all that would be involved would be swapping the bulbs and placing the ballasts. Not a hard job at all.

DRL bypass only for cars that use low beam/drl, IF not then its just simple plug and play.

Not when you factor in exchange rates and duties at the border.

I thought one of the sponsors was in Canada? As for the exchange rate, I forgot about that.
