For the past month, ive been hearing a leaf or dirt ruffle around in my vents when i turn on my air or heat. I kept thinking i should get around to replacing my cabin filter and its prolly jammed full of crap since the car left factory. But ive been reading that 2004 models did not have this.

So scratch that idea.. Now i still have this annoying noise of something blowing around in my lower vents. It seems to only be in this one specific area where all my main air fist comes from before it divides into other vents. But its in my console, and deep down. Id have to rip everything out to get at it. Any solution will help.

Ive tried blasting the air/heat at max level, ive tried going from 1-4 back and forth hoping it would losen the leaf and blow it threw the vents but it wont come out.

I have the same sound. It doesn't bug me anymore. However, if you find a solution... I'd love to hear it.

Try to check:
Set air intake switch to “re-circulated air” and temperature to max.
If sound is disappearing when car is warm, then more like this is the worn bearing and ventilator rubbing the blower case .

Do think, do you need this headache?

P.S. Don’t remove any tubes.

Ill try that sas thanks. But im almost 90% positive its nothing that has to do with a bearing. I just sounds like a couple leafs stuck in a chamber blowin around and cannot make it through the rest of the way.

It will make the noise for 15 seconds on initial start up and once constant air flows it will stop like its being pushed against something by the air flow, if u change speeds it will move a bit then stop again.

I guess the answer im looking to get is the best way to get to the air flow vents that isnt going to make me rip my entire dash out to get at. :D

Cabin filter is fairly easy to access. Cars without the filter... just as easy. You could try opening it up and see what is there. Use compressed air blown in the vents to blow the debris back to the blower and you might be able to remove it.
