De La Hoya was owned!!!! Every round!!! Pacquiao was way too fast for the Golden Boy..... I can't really call it a great fight since it was so once sided! :)

The height difference and reach is really an advantage of dela hoya, but pacquiao is much quicker. i thought it was a "Dream Match", but it wasnt, its a total mismatch since all rounds won by pacquiao and finished off by TKO. Pacquiao is just starting to warm up in 8th round and would have put oscar on the canvass on the ff rounds.

I read De La Hoya went straight to the hospital right after the match.

Bring on Pretty Boy Floyd or Money Mayweather or whatever he calls himself these days. Not Mexican but IMO Manny's next big challenge.

It was more of a "Nightmare" than a dream match for dela hoya. :chuckle It was a good move by Dela hoya to stop the fight because it could've gotten really ugly (his face that is) if he had continued.

Dela Hoya only fought becuase of the huge purse ... 22mill ! It's his stlye to fight only the big money fights (win or lose). He knew he was going to lose right off the bat! His old trainer , who now trains pacman, told him not to do it .... but all de la hoya saw were dollar signs .
PacMan got 11mill btw

Yah, i've never been a big fan of the "golden boy"
It was obvious from the beginning of his career that he and his promoter have always been in it for the money. Men love boxing, women and Broli love his pretty face. It's all about marketing/promoting.
at least Manny got some real money this time.
That's like a Gajillion Trillion Bazillion Pesos!
I just hate the fact that as soon as someone gets famous in the Philippines,
they automatically become actors, singers, and presidential candidates.
He should just stick to being a role model for hard work and determination, no need to try running the country.

I watched this whole fight live on saturday and I for one think that this fight was fixed. Don't get me wrong, I love that Manny won the fight but not the way he did. Dela Hoya's main strategy on this fight is to jab as he has the reach and height advantage yet he didn't do this at all. He got dominated in every round. The fact that he gave up on the 8th round which he has never done in his career. Its a fight that will trigger big fights for Manny if he wins which means more promotions for the golden boy. He could have at least fought on the 9th round and get knocked out than quitting like a little bitch. :loco

I don't think that this fight was fixed. You are right, Dela Hoya's bread and butter is to feel out with the jab which he clearly didn't during this fight, but the credit to this goes to Pacquiao's movement. Yes, it is true that this fight will catapult Pacquiao's career into the elite status but winning this fight does not equate to more fights for Golden Boy Promotions in no way. Pacquiao is under Top Rank Promotions and the only guy who is worthy of a fight with Pacquiao under Golden Boy is Sugar Shane, so I don't see this as being a reason to throw the fight. If anything, he should have won it to give the Golden Boy camp a better name, one with fighters to contend with, not one that throws matches. As everyone has said, not an exciting match, but nice to see Pacquiao dominate nonetheless.

:chuckle He ducked all those questions like they were Dela Hoya jabs :chuckle At least he's trying now, I remember his interviews at the beginning of his rise, he always answered in tagalog, he's come a far way. He just needs to answer the question now, lol.

Holy...Pinoy Power in here. There are more filipinos on this forum than I thought! Pacquiao owns. He's doing his part and is a major contributor to our plan for world domination! :bana2
MABUHAY! :chuckle
Oh, and I loved those few times when DLH actually hit Pacquiao good...Manny would clap his gloves in the air and just get fired up. He was probably saying, "Wooow! Naks naman...you gat me Osscar! I'm berry lucky I'm isstill isstanding, but I train hard. I'll gonna knock you out now!"
