trunk lid doesn't open

I am trying to use the key to open the trunk lid, but it doesn't work.
What I tried is:
1. insert the key into the slot
2. turn it clockwise - it just stuck there, I was not able to turn it at all.

But the remote release handle works.


Do you have any idea what might be wrong? :lock

your trunk lid might be frozen shut, i get that all the time with the gas lid.

The key cylinder has a lever that trips the unlock mechanism. The lever or the part of the latch it engages is probably bent, broken, or disconnected in some way.

Either of the above two. I'm gonna go with frozen. Try opening it from inside the car.

It's indoor parking, probably won't be the frozen case.


If there's something wrong with the lock mechanism, uhm...I have to fix it..
