bestbuy complete system quote good price?

I went into future shop about an hour ago to get a ball figure price of how much it would cost me to upgrade my system, basically subs,deck,amp,4 speakers and install , total came to somewhere around 900ish with only 2 speakers instead of 4, Iam gonna post the specs here and if someone who knows more then i do about sound systems tell me if this is a good deal , i agree 100% that bestbuy and futureshop dont know anything about install cause when i was asking questions he was just pulling numbers out of no where, anyways i was just looking for a ball park figure but i got pretty much exact pricing , here is what I choose,

any help or suggestions would be great, this price is a bit too high for me so any cheaper suggestions would be great, if i get this done at a private audio place does it cost less than FS or bestbuy?

sub and amps seem to be allright. Speakers i have the Rtype and love them to death difference Rtype=120rms over stype=75rms get a better deck though that seems to be a baseline or just above base line.

i agree on getting a more "mid range" deck, something thats not bottom of the line...
you want sometihng that sounds better, dont you?

and i have a set of Alpine type R component speakers if you want them...

they're 6.5" too, and not 5x7. (they fit, you just need adapter plates)

best buy really isnt the best place to have car audio installed, to be honest. there's a shop near my house that has pretty good prices, like, $40 for deck installation(!!!).
but for the price, sure, why not. i never had any problems when i had my subs installed.

oh, and IF your interested, i MAY have a small 4 channel amp for sale in the upcoming months...

also if iam getting speakers and sub does that mean i need a seperate amp for both, mono and stero amp?

i actually just ordered that unit! but i got the one with the better screen on it.
im stoked to put it in!
oh, and fyi, it doesnt play CD's, it has a mp3/ipod hook up instead.
but then again, cd's are old school.

and with the speakers your getting, you wont need an amp for them. well, it would push more power to them, but over all, you'll be fine.
your probably best getting a 4 channel amp for all 4 speakers, and mono amp for the subs. thats what im running at the moment.

i had the speakers done at a privately owned shop (keiths stereo), as well as the 4 channel amp.
everything else i did myself
(subs arent that hard to do.)

and my buddy is doing the deck for me when it finally comes in.

I decided to do this system in steps, so here is how its gonna go, plz give me ur opinions about this.

firstly Iam gonna go with the Rockford P3 subs, they are 12 inch, 2ohm 1000W & 500W RMS each, so its 2 of those in a ported box, = 1000W RMS pushed out, Phoneix Gold AMP, 1200 W RMS power

pricing for the two subs 398.... pretty good considering its 250 each on the u.s site

I find rockford subs to sound too "noisy" and lacking quality. My cousin has the P3s in a ported box and I have the Infinity Perfects in a non-ported enclosure .... I've heard them both and even he agrees mine sounds better.

could be the amp .. i dunno.

Wiring i got from whitby hifi in oshawa they hid everthing did a nice job man 20 for the adapter 70 bucks for the 4g wiring and 60 for the labour. so over all i paid 450

but i think it shound'nt cost so much...anyways yah hope everthing works well when installed man :)

ye ur price is a big diffrence..... iam getting over 1 grand as a quote, iam gonna check a couple of other places maybe even go with the p2, 1000W rms seems like wayy too much power now that i think about it,

did you ask audioheaven what there quote was on systems? i asked jeff while i was getting tints done and he quoted me $550 for a kenwood system. he also had some orion subs which are high quality speakers and some touchscreen decks..give him a shout in the sponsors section

and fyi,

a sealed box, will give you tighter bass that pretty much you can just hear (as opposed to people outside the car), and a ported box will give you a more looser bass, that everyone can hear.

iam going to audio heaven 2moro, I really dont think I need or can afford a 1000W system .... looking at p2s now 500 instead of 1000, thanks for all ur opinions and suggestions!

I might as well just get the two p2s since their cheaper that way i can cut down on the amp cost as well, 70 bucks from amp and arond 200 from speakers,

Last year i bought for my winter beater a 10" sony sub and box for $99 online from best buy...just keep checking bb an fs online you might find a killer deal if you check every week on line

ye i agree bro, instead of buying it all at once what I should do is just buy it peice by peace, i figured that this was I can get a complete system for around 1k 1200, my decisions between the last few days changed allot but i think this is the best way to do it now, especially now with best buy profits going down 70%
