I got lucky and got an S from futureshop back in November on an A550. Then I bought teh same tv for my friend a few days ago and their's was an A... I haven't check their tv out yet so I can't comment on it. I love my S panel. When I asked the futureshop people about wanting an S panel, they looked at me like I'm retarded.

I have an A built Samsung 20" 206BW. I did read about the S A C models before I purchased mine last summer.

My LCD has been fine for what it is. I just leave it on the Game mode and the contrast and color richness are excellent.

Reporting back: Every unit on demo that is above 32" (450 and 550) is of the S variety.
the 52" 550 was wall mounted and thus I can't check. and didn't check the 630 or the 750 because people are saying the high end tvs have the S panel.
The 19inch 450 has the slightly worst A panel
and the 22inch 330 has the worst C panel.

Keep in mind though that these demos were probably openned when the tv was launched and thats why the panels are from samsung.. probably susequent panels are of the cheaper variety. again as I get around to inspecting people's tv's i will report back with more findings.

Um, i got a whole package thing. Like they custom it for me.

I got the tv, home theater sys, tv stand, monster cable (returned since i can get hdmi cables for like $3, cleaning kit, sony blueray player (returned cuz they marked it at reg price so i it made my package look cheaper after i returned it), and i think that was it?

Well the tv was marked at 2029 + tax

How about you if you dont mind me asking

I think everyone is hyping this up for nothing.

Samsung engineers design a new LCD. The first models are developed by them. Once they are satisfied with the display and the processes and so forth, they outsource the glass making to other companies that still meet all their specs. Obviously all of the chips, firmware, and all that is the exact same regardless. Probably they don't have enough capability to manufacturer all displays themselves. I don't think Samsung is stupid enough to just allow shit to be made under their name.
