Hi everyone,
Thinking about buying a refurbished Pioneer Avic F700BT. Comparing it to the current Futureshop price ($699.99 plus taxes), I'd be saving about $200. Anyone have any experience with refurbished Pioneer products?

IMHO as long it has some sort of warranty through the dealer or Pioneer I see no prbs with buying refurbs.
Apple does the same thing with Macs, iPods and such and still offer the same warranty as new.

If it comes with a one year warranty, which FS usually has on refurbished, then grab it, if it's only a 3 or 4 month warranty~walk away, the price is too high!....my 2c

I think it's hit and miss with refurb stuff....I agree with the above, it might be a good buy if it comes with some sort of warranty.
A lot of times, even though it's refurb, it may only have cosmestic damage like a small scratch or something and didn't meet the QA standards yet the product is still good.
I bought a refurb Pioneer home theatre amp many years back, only thing that was wrong was the black metal casing had a huge scratch on the side and a few of the terminal screws were missing - up to today I've had no issues with it whatsoever LOL

If it comes with a warranty, why not!

Where are you getting this refurbished unit?

It's actually from on eBay seller in the US. They do provide 1-year warranty through their company, so I'm a little weary of purchasing since I'd have to send it back to the US for any problems.
Thanks for your feedback everyone. I guess refurbished products are hit and miss, but some companies, like Apple, have a good reputation for their refurbs, so I was hoping Pioneer might be the same.

I wouldn't do that. I'd just buy brand new.
