I'm not going to try and argue here...

I would have to say, sometimes, it is the driver's fault for speeding and not paying attention to the road ahead... but you also have the other side of the story where pedestrians don't look before they cross the road (The guy texting with the girl on his phone... he was so focused on his phone that he completely misses the on coming van... Granted, the Van shouldn't have been speeding.)

Can't blame it all on the drivers, but can't blame it all on the pedestrians either.

+1

So sad to see so many scenarios and you just feel for those people, acting or not.

Thanks for posting this

That video seems a bit unrealistic but if you drive like a jack-ass, bad things will happen!

Possibly, but the message I got from it is that you must drive with responsibility and be focused. No one gets into their car with the specific intent of causing an accident but you can become involved in a chain of events that can cause death unless you are paying attention.

And yes...some of those scenes were too hard to watch.

Yeah sometimes its the drivers fault but sometimes it is the persons fault. You see the clip where the guy and girl and text messaging each other and then he walks out? So his fault but also maybe the driver was speeding through a school zone so its hard to say.

I also don't know how people say its unrealistic. On the forum I got it from, people are saying that too but I see everything is possible in that video, maybe the chances are low but its possible

yeah at 1:32, its the kids fault for not looking.

Otherwise, I agree with Fang, eyes on the road!

edit: good video (just finished watching it)

I think the point of the video is that whether you are a pedestrian or a driver, you should ALWAYS be paying attention. The couple on the bridge for example, could have chosen a better place than that.

Especially this winter, with the weather the way it is, please, please pay attention.

ouch, too difficult to watch :-(((

but it's important for people to be aware of the consequences of speeding.

Even if you are driving alone...think of all the people who's lives would be shattered if you end up killing yourself in a speeding accident. Or imagine killing someone else because you were speeding and having to live with that for the rest of your life...

This video is very hard to watch, but helps one open their eyes even more to the dangers of driving and not paying attention...
Also really good to see that most of you are taking it seriously. That's what I like about this forum, seems like a group of really mature people!
Be careful out there especially with this weather...

I think the message comes across pretty strong, graphic but strong!! ...they should probably force people with traffic incidences to watch this video!

I showed a few people the video and most just thought it was unrealistic but my sis and bro thought it was deep. I guess it depends on what type of personality you have.

Yes, the video is definitely unrealistic...but the message is clear. Drive safely and smartly, or risk paying the price.

Its a graphic and true video. I've seen parts of it before.

Its like those Safety @ Work commercials that were pretty grusome.

The bare truth is what actually gets people thinking.

that video is seriously depressing and i know ill get flamed for it but its boring. As a driver you gotta be 10 steps ahead of yourself left right mirrors setup properly not to what you should see but to how you need them so you can judge distances etc etc. Also depends on the driver how is your reaction time do you panic or do you think. sounds stupid but those are huge factors

I just found, and watched the video. Very touching and hard to watch. Really made me think of my kids....

I sometimes drive pretty impatiently. Pass when it's unnecessary and so on.....I need to smarten the f**k up.

Sitting here thinking now this made me think of a story but on drunk driving. This was in a paper some time ago and just crushes me to even think about it again. But I'm going to share, my short version.

A family traveling in a mini van were hit, head on by drunk driver. Took some time for medics to arrive on scene because of location. When they did arrive, most of the passengers in the van were ok......but out front of the vehicle there sat the mother on the curb. She was sobbing, cradling her 3 year old daughters head which had been decapitated in the crash. She would not let go. Even for her own wounds to be treated, and as I remember reading she held on for as long as she could, repeating over and over again....no.

I am sorry for anyone who has had to suffer such a loss. I cannot imagine the pain, having a 3 year old girl myself now. I would die myself one hundred times over before I could handle this.

Drive safe, drive sober.

dude thats horrible and unreal. it makes me realize that i also need to stop being a retard when i drive. i mean ive gotten into one accident and it was a wakeup call. i wasnt speeding or anything but you gotta pay attention especially if you hit black ice. its scary. im still somewhat shaky when i drive just due to this. its unreal.

wow, this gave me shivers while i was watching it. people saying this is unrealistic...you people are in denial. you are the people that do what you want, thinking "it wont happen to me". i dont mean to offend with that comment but its true. this video and others like it are meant to show you things do happen. yeah, i speed(not excessively but still). i get away with all day every day. but then theres the day where you dont. and your life will never be the same. i work with someone who was in an accident (not his fault at all) and the other person involved passed away. now his life will never be the same, and he wasnt even at fault. can you imagine if you were completely to blame for your recklessness killing someone? i understand things happen that are out of our control, but we have to do what we can you know. thats really what this is about in my opinion. they aren't saying you should drive around everywhere at 10km/h. you just need to have your wits about you all the time when you are driving.

thank god the cell phone law went through. thats one of the biggest problems on our roads these days if you ask me. people have always sped. but now you have people speeding and talking on their phones. its just not safe. i have the perfect example of this first hand. some girl pulled out infront of me the other week because she was on her cell phone not paying attention to what she was doing. i was speeding a bit (maybe 10 over tops) and slammed the brakes on, realized i wasnt going to stop in time mostly because of the conditions (ill admit though, if i was doing the limit i would more than likely have stopped just in time). because i was paying attention and not on a cellphone, as i was slowing i had the time to realize the other side of the road was clear, let my foot compltely off the brake and steered around her. then i pulled over and chilled for a minute, waiting for my heart to come down out of my throat. i can honestly say if i had a cell phone or soem other distraction i would not have been able to survay the situation in time to make a good decision so that nothing ended up happening and no one was hurt. and my rx8 is still mint.

this should be on as a comercial between primetime. yeah, its gruesome, but it needs to be said. good posting
