Door locking system is messed up

My driver side door opens no problem but when it comes to the rest of my doors on my '09 sedan, the locks dont release consistently. the rest only unlocks some times via remote.

one unlock of the keyfob does driver side door only. A quick doubletap does all 4 doors. the idea is that you can unlock only your door if there's a baddie trying to get into the car on the other side. "security" feature. (its also fun to lock friends out of the car)
