So I am picking up my new Mazda 3 today from a local Toronto dealership and I must say they were much more professional than the buffons at the dealership where I purchased my first Mazda 3. Just as an example, the first dealership somehow forgot to put the license plates on my car, and so I drove home "naked" as it were. Can't believe I didn't notice it but it was night time and I was more focused on the thrill of a new car.
So here's where my new car story goes a little off the tracks today. When I first started discussing the terms of the deal, I sat through the usual presentation of all the "extras" ie. warranty for this, warranty for that, and I realize this is profit for the dealerships, and that's business. So I leave extra warranty, rim coverage and rust proofing on the agreement, as "it's easier to take it off, then put it on", but still I need to research this stuff before I can truly make a decision. After reading some of the posts/threads on this site I come to the conclusion, I don't want any of it. So first thing the next business day I inform the business manager to take it all off. But unfortunately I don't speak directly to him as it is one of supremely busy days at the dealership. So just as a back up I e-mail him my request.
What do you think happens? They take off everything except the rust proofing, which kinda urks me because you know it's one of those things you can't remove, and for $750 it's not price comparative to Krown, which was my intented route. I'm not saying they did it intentionally, it is easily a miscommunication, but you know there was never an apology, just a disintegration into uncomfortable disagreement. Maybe this rust proofing product (Sym-tech) is fabulous and I'm getting value for the dollar, or maybe it washed away on the way home. Either way I'll let you know after my llifetime guarantee expires!
