My car hit the curb yesterday, the rim is cracked and the front right inner and outer tie rods need to be replaced. I did the inspection at CT yesterday, but they don't have the part in stock so I drove it back home.

This morning I called Downtown Mazda, they have the inner and outer tie rods in stock and the guy in part department give me a quote $49.xx for the inner and $54 for the outer and told me the repair can be done in about 2 hours. I thought this price is reasonable, so I went there, after the 1 minute "inspection" they quoted 499.99 for the 4.9 hours labour + $78 for the inner and $55 for the outer. The price is just ridiculous. I told the guy I want to talk to his manager, the guy said he's in a meeting. And his manager came out right after asking what to order for lunch. Ok, now I know what kind of person am I dealing with. So I spent $50 to know I shouldn't do the repair at this place.

After all I got my car fixed at CT, the labour cost for the tie rod is $171. the parts are $50 and $55. And I replaced all my rims and tires at CT too.

I will never go to Downtown Mazda again. Their arrogant attitude, their knives behind their smiles... I don't even want to think about that again.

Just let you guys know my bad experience at Downtown Mazda.

whoa !

I can't believe these people have not figured out customer service (not just Downtown Mazda but all service centers) - you pis.s off someone, especially someone in a car club and you are going to have 1000+ other car owners hearing about the bad experiance.

Your experience mirrors what my friend saw while she worked there. Managers' nonchalant attitude towards customer complaints and overall service had many customers infuriated. They simply didn't care. Her advice to me was, get the car and take it elsewhere for service and that really speaks volume coming from in insider there. Now, that was quite some time ago, so things may have changed a bit.

Should have brought your car over to Streetperformance, Jimmy would have taken care of you.
