Max Mounting Depth?

Does anyone know the max speaker mounting depth that can fit in the doors? I'm looking at speakers with 2-1/4" or 2-3/4" mounting depths and wondering if either will fit?

From what some sponsors are selling it looks like either would be OK.... ?

Bump! What exactly is the maximum mounting depth?

Im looking at some JBL P8662's with a mounting depth of 2-15/16"

my front door speakers are at least 3 inches deep with a 1/4 inch spacer and no clearance issues.

i ran alpine type R component speakers. no problems.
those were at least 3" thick.
