so i think my shock is going or already gone. i can feel how hard it is when it hits a pot hole or any sort of bump. however my car has 65000 KMS on it, would warranty cover that or do i gotta pay for it outta pocket cuz it seems wayyyyyyy too early for it to go now?:bang

if your shock is going... look for a leak
also, the ride should feel more bouncy

Shock absorbers can be tested with a simple bounce test:

• Ensure the car has been driven recently and is on a level surface.
• Do one corner of your vehicle at a time.
• Press down firmly on one corner of the vehicle.
• Your vehicle will push down and bounce back up again.
• As it bounces up again it should rise above its starting point and then setting back to the original starting point (one bounce)
• If it drops below this starting point and then only rises back up to it – your vehicle’s shock more than likely will need replacing.

My front right strut went on my 2005 Mazda3 Sport GT.
It leaked like crazy for about 3 weeks.

I didn't think there was that much fluid in it but there was.

I didn't notice any different feel in the cars handling at all.

I thought it was my brakes because my wheel well was covered with liquid and so where my rims.

I was only at about 80,000km when it happened.

Cost me about $250.00 installed.

Has it been doing it for a while..or did it just start when it got real cold out? It might be casue of the cold.

Don't these cars have warrnty until 80 000km ????

My rear right shock went at about 25 000km. Got it replaced under warranty obviously.
I had exact same symptoms and a very obvious leak that I noticed on my driveway.

it may be leaky but when i changed my tires to snows, there was alot of scraping on the inside of the shock absorber coming from the outer part of the shock absorber

I can't remember...but aren't you lowered jaimie? If youa re, it'll be very hard to convince the dealer to warranty you, only reason is because the lowering springs actually has relation to this suspension part.
