Just got back from my fav slippery empty parking lot, had some fun drifting and then thought "Hey, its about time I tried a Rockford". For anyone that doesn't know this maneuver (also known as a J-turn) it was popularized by Jim Rockford in The Rockford Files, where you back up very quickly, crank the wheel to spin the car 180 degrees, and take off in 2nd gear while doing an incredibly smokey burnout. Admittedly burnouts are hard on the snow, but what a better place to try it out!

Anyone else try these? So much fun!!

Vid for anyone that wants the visual (obviously not me)

Side note: a few weeks ago I took my fiancee Jena to see "Twilight", and at one point a character does this move in a Volvo C30. She turns to me and says, "can you do that in a real car?" :) So now I'll have to show her that you can!
