I have never seen these lights before, buh you do not need the harness. It is for DRL, and the 9005 are for high beams only. For DRL's, the Mazda 3 uses H7 bulbs.

Oh crap, I never knew that :chuckle. I drive an 06. Now I understand what Dan was telling me one time. He was telling something how if I put in HIDs, I can use my high beams and DRLs or something like that lollll.

Im still confused bout it. When I get my HIDs put in, I just want it to work normally as my lights do now b/c im used to it. I dun want to conversion or anything. May do independent fog mod too as well though.

Sorry bout the mixup :loco

Dan set my highbeams up as DRLs so that everything works according to stock. If you do the independent fog mod, you might have to remember to turn them off manually...since they stay on independently. 04-06, highbeam DRL is the way to go in order to keep stock functionality.

So would the light be coming from my projector lense, or the big ugly high beam one lolll?

Also, to turn them on, would it be the same as turning it on before I had HIDs (start car=DRL, twist knob once=orange lights, twist twice=night lights, twist three times=auto). I want my HIDs to function like this and to also come out my projector lenses, or do I have to flick the bar foward as if I am turning on the high beams, then start twisting the knob?
Please explain to me how it will function

With independent fogs, that mod allows me to turn them on and off no matter what setting my headlights are on rite? Just want to understand all this better. Please help me :blush

What type of bulb do you need for lowbeams? To simplify, when you start your car without touching anything provided your on stock, the light that shines on, what light do you need to change to include a LED light?

First, to my understand you don't have HIDs yet.

Your HIDs would go into the lowbeams (H7). Since you have an 06, you have to ask Dan to do the DRL bypass because currently your DRL is from the lowbeams.

You can do the independent fogs, so you can turn them on/off manually AT ANY TIME, no matter what your light setting is. I just leave mine on all the time, they go off when you turn your car off. If you want to re-wire your DRL to the highbeams like the 07+, you'll need a whole new harness for that.

Since your HIDs are lowbeams (or your projector lens as you refer them to), they work just like normal:

Start car=DRL (fogs, if you have them on)
Twist knob once=orange lights/parking lights
Twist twice=night lights (lowbeams/HIDs)
Twist three times=auto (lowbeams/HIDs - I won't leave it on Auto BTW)
And if you flick the handle forward that would be your highbeams.

I keep my fog lights as halogen. I thought of getting H11 LED bulbs but they aren't bright enough for DRLs on a nice sunny day.

Thanks for the clarification! So I just need the DRL bypass mod for my HIDS to function as my lights normally do right now and the independent fog mod done as well in the Spring. :bana2

The independent fog is not a must have.... btw.... If you want to settle with no DRL, or just have your parking lights on (turn knob once) all the time as your DRL that's fine too.

But I like something brighter, and more versatile :chuckle
