I wish I had found this site earlier I have much to complain about. I have had my mazda for almost 2 years and for almost 2 years I have had to deal with incompetence, disinterest and frustration. Every time i go to Prima Mazda I leave with a lot of stress and a huge headache. I need to find a new mazda to go to...any recommendations. ANY DEALERSHIP willing to pick up the free oil changes offered by Prima Mazda? I will gladly switch and try out the service offered.
Here is a list of everything I had to deal with i will try to keep it brief:
1. TINT ISSUES: Got my tint done at Prima Mazda. Two days later found the trim piece on the door was sliced with an knife...WASN'T THERE BEFORE...Called service, they gave me the run around for 3 weeks, said i was to go there and meet with the guy that did the tint and the service person...GEEZ i wonder whose side they would take...didn't bother dealing with retardo...went straight to Service manager...MAGICALLY it was replaced within 2 days. blamed contract workers
2. ALARM ISSUES: When i bought my car asked to have alarm and remote start put in...all was well...until...i popped the hood and found a device hanging around, when i went to Prima Mazda for an oil change i asked what that was and why it wasn't attached to anything. they told me it was the alarm sensor from my hood and they "forgot" to attach it. guy didn't want to drill into my hood cuz he didn't want to damage my car so it is now ZIP TIED (more zip tie stories to come)...blamed contract workers.
3. MISSING DIPSTICK: Asked them to top-up fluids when at Prima Mazda for oil change. Was about to drive to Ottawa so decided to check my fluids...lo and behold NO ATF dipstick...MISSING!!! called mazda they said yeah we saw one lying around but didn't know who it belonged to (i'm sure it wouldn't have been hard to figure out if they tried), i made them come and drop it off at my work. LO and BEHOLD...1 month later my ATF was a very dark brown, went to complain and they wanted me to pay the full amount to replace the fluid said they couldn't prove that the missing dipstick cause the colour change and that cars with 30 000k normally had to have their ATF switch...YEAH RIGHT... after complaining to Said I ended up paying half shouldn’t have had to pay at all but was so exasperated.
- 4. INCOMPETENT WORKER USES ZIP TIE: When I bought the car, I had the dealership put in a cargo net. Retardo drilled the holes at the bottom too large so the bolt kept popping out. Went back once they fixed it well on one side, went back for the other side and he used a ZIP TIE to secure it. I could have done that myself. Had to freak then they told me they didn’t have the part in had to come back. Magically after b*****ng to the manager…MAGICALLY the part was found and the cargo net was fixed. Blamed the person who put it in originally. This time I refused to have them work on my car without me watching. I stood there the whole time and will only trust a dealership if I can stand and watch. + Sorry to hear about your problems. I would try taking your car to Mazda of Toronto. Unfortunately, I don't know if they would pick up the free oil changes. Those are thrown in by the dealership in order to make the deal. I do not believe all dealerships are required to fulfill them. Only the dealership that you signed the deal with to purchase the vehicle.
- I have many other stories, such as dirtying my sun roof, not filling power steering fluid when specifically requested, scratching the bumper… I know this is a long post but it just feels good to finally get this out. You may ask why i keep going back...they offered me free oil changes...BUT i refuse to go back now UNLESS I am able to watch ALL work being done on my car. + Welcome to the board by the way.
