Maybe I'm just being a complete tool, but I tried the search function without any luck..... (maybe MGM will respond with all the links I missed :chuckle).

I'm looking to add HID's to my 2007 3 GT Sedan. If I were not to get the plug n' play style, how hard would it be to bring it back to stock?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

YOTR knows. Try asking him since he reverted back to stock since he had issues with his HID's.

What kind is there other than plug 'n play?? Either way it's pretty easy to revert back to stock.

Are you talking about doing a retrofit? You can buy mazda OEM ballasts, wiring and such to convert your existing haologen to HID's. The only drawback is cost. It is cheaper to buy an aftermarket kit for like $150ish. When my kit had problems, it took me like 20 minures to remove the whole thing and revert back to stock.

I appreicate your input guys.

I like the look of HID's.... I'm just trying to see how feasible it is as I've heard all the problems about flickering, bulbs burning quick, problems with ballasts, slim ballasts being more problamatic, etc.

I'm willing to try a set out, but just tryign to see how hard it would be to go back to stock if things don't work out.

doesn't it depend on the manufacturer of the kit tho??

going back to stock will take as much time as changing headlight bulb. so about 15 mins or so

Question has been asked before, but never answered clearly.

Most people tend to ask the reverse of your question, hence the lack of links.:chuckle

Hey Chris,
its fairly easy to revert back to stock if you have issues. In your case you are going to be using the relay to power your HID's leaving your stock connecter only connected to ground for the ballast theough quick connect.

If its plug and Play kit, it leterally takes 3 min to undue everything.
As for making it look like OEM hids, well.. then you spending, 500-1000ish maybe and reverting back takes a little longer then 3 min lol Also depending where you getting your prices, I would assume those would be a dealer prices and then your installation. Have you seen how oem hids looks like?? its nothing like plug and play..

If you get a good kit for good money, you will never have to worry about it. I've had my Polarian Philips 4100K kit for over 4 years now. I haven't had a single issue with them...no bulbs changing colours, no flickering, no dead bulbs. Just worry free OEM quality light.

Removal is easy, it's the damn retaining clip that will take up most o your time.

Once you get used to it it gets really easy also for a good hint buy a screwdriver that has almost a V shape as a tip. This way you can put the V on to the retention clip and push it in with the screw driver
