I believe stocks are 4300k, but i dont really like how they are like
'yellowish white'. I heard from a buddy who also owns a 3 that the stock
HIDs colour changes to blue-white over time. Has anyone experienced this?
If they really do, i might just leave them on and see how it goes.
Can anyone give me a clear answer?

If your HID's are an aftermarket kit, they will change color over time.

Stock will barely ever change into "burned in" color. Why would you wanna change 4300k, our cars have like the brightest-whitest lights, that outshine BMW and mercedes.
However what happend to Acura TL 2nd last genwith halogen housing? There bulbs look pinkish..maybe first production?

They will stay the same color. Only way to achieve a different color is to swap the stock D2S bulbs to a higher temp.

Search HIDplanet. A lot of bulbs experience a phenomenon known as "colour shift", which I believe is what your buddy has experienced. As for what colour they shift to, it depends. Sometimes the light yellows; sometimes it dulls; sometimes it turns greenish. There are a lot of factors.

I had my HID's for about 6 months and due to the flickering (DRL) driver's side bulb became white/yellow.

Mine turned whiter, at the beggining they were more with a blue tint. (they're 6000k) so you should expect a blueish white outta that, but they're starting to burn more white now.

You might want to change your sig before you get an infraction.

Yups, same with mine .. stock HIDs. I notice that for the first 20-25 seconds, it has this blue tint to it, and then it becomes white.

Spot on. Over time your bulbs (stock or aftermarket) will shift towards the higher kelvin ratings. 4000k towards 5000k and beyond......... You also lose lumens as this occurs. Alot of the BMW's and Lexus's you see on the road that seem to have a more 6000k look, have it due to color shifting and the owner not changing out the bulbs. the Philips 85122+ bulb was made to resist color shifting and help maintain optimal lumens.
