The "5 years ago" post with the pics of people 3's back then made me think. I wasn't quite driving my 04 at that point.
If you weren't driving your Mazda 3 five years ago, post what you had.
Here's what I was driving, 1999 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro. Traded it in on my 2004 Mazda 3 GT. It was a nice ride.

Submit for the crappiest car...enter the duct tape machine, '92 Protege DX. 5th gear didn't work. The hood hinges broke, so the hood was falling off. It leaked oil and coolant like a sieve. It ate axles and clutches for breakfast. I drove it for a month with no brakes before finally selling it for 100 bucks.
I still can't believe I drove that thing for almost 2 years :loco New Mazda is much better :chuckle

One of my early cars was a 1987 Acura Integra LS.... had the same thing when I bought it, no 5th gear! But I bought the gears from Acura and added them back in! lol

5 years ago, heck that would make me a few weeks to the day of being 16. I still had no car so this was the next best thing...

Reminds me of the cars I drove when I first got lisenced. I miss the feeling of not caring if my car got dinged in the parking lot.

Thanks :) It was my baby I put a lot of work into it. The front bumper is oem but not for that model. It's someones track car now.
I got that particular piece in 3 pieces before I repaired it to what you see above. Sold that car this summer.
Here is a pic of it with the 3.

Is that a ZX-6? My wife and I owned ZX-6s for a couple years in 2001-2002 and they looked pretty well identical to yours. Mine was a 93 and hers a 94. Fun. Nice bike.

I had a loaded 2005 Grand am GT with some special performance package that cost me 32gs new and after 8 months and this, I was told it was worth 17gs. I will never go back to GM and I think the Corvette is the only car to hold a decent value! http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u273/spiffman99/Grandamaccident005.jpghttp://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u273/spiffman99/Grandamaccident010.jpg

I loved this bike. Spent $1000 on the actual bike then another $1500 on random parts I'd break. I had to sell it when I was at my last job. Hours cut back so much I couldn't afford my bills and I only got $380 for her. :(
Just recently I bought the same colour, model, year, size frame from a friend and am slowly building it up to be better than what I had before. The only thing I really miss from the bike were the brakes. They were 1999 Hayes Purples full hydraulic 6", bought them for $60 in '05 still BRAND NEW in the box. Was an amazing deal. Someone I used to ride with bought them as a spare set when he used to race XC and never ended up using them.
Then, a month after I sold it (to a friend of a friend) he left it UNLOCKED in a friend's back yard during a house party. Didn't take long for it to disappear.
Now that I look back I really wish I just borrowed the cash from my parents or something. I've gotten so weak since I've stopped riding. I was 230lbs back in my riding days and even though I lost lots of muscle I still went up in weight a bit. I used to be almost fearless, I'd jump 10' high stair cases landing on the flat at the bottom, most my friends with huge downhill race bikes wouldn't even do that. Lol, the stairs by the sky dome were so fun to jump. I remember once I almost jumped right on top of my friend. We were downtown for a ride, me and 3 others. They were looking around for other random stuff to ride and practise tricks and jumps on, here I come flying off this 9 step staircase and I guess they never heard me yell. I landed with the left part of my handle bar about 4" away from my friend, hahaha. Scared the hell out of both of us. I used to dirt jump and do pump tracks a lot, and of course I'd do XC now and then. There is quite the large trail system in Toronto through the Don Valley. I used to build a lot of wood stunts in there, and I used to help maintain the dirt jump area and I'm one of the people who first started to clear all the pain full thistle patches to make room for the pump track. Oh, the memories...
